I-75 to Florida - Stop in TN or GA

Forgot to add that he like the Hampton Inns in Dalton and Morrow.

Kennesaw, Georgia

We were on the road real early this morning (2:50 am) and made really good time. When we arrived in TN, we were ahead of schedule, so, we decided to skip TN this year head to Kennesaw, GA.

We arrived in Kennesaw and checked-in to the Holiday Inn Express by 6:30 pm. With the Hotel coupon, the room was $69.00.

:thumbsup2Thanks for ALL of the tips and feedback.:thumbsup2

Free cookies at the front desk, free wifi, free hot breakfeast, and free beer (we skipped on the free beer and headed across the street for dinner.) and Very clean room.

Tomorrow we are headed to POP!

:stitch:

Front desk recommended that we leave our hotel after 9 am in order to avoid the Atlanta rush hour traffic. Hoping to arrive at POP by 4pm!!

Glad to hear you made it to GA.
I like stopping in GA instead of TN on the way down - there seems to be a psychological boost knowing that when you stop, you are only one state away from Disney - seems to make the next day's drive go by faster.

stop at the first rest stop in Ga.. pick up motel coupon books (esp. room saver) you can cal the motel about an hour out.. we ahve never been turned down.
(well, we Do stay at the "cheaper" motels. never paid $69 on the way down.. splurge at Disney..! on the way down? $55 is tops

freebeer? gald you beat the rain. looks like we'll be going through georgia in it. darn

ok, that was me again, posting under hubby Nebo's name.

hope you have fun on your trip. everyone pray that lee moves very slow, and stays away from Geaorgia/Tennessee, till tuesday. (aren't I selfish?)

I'm headed back to WDW and I'm making this drive again!

This year's trip will begin on Saturday Aug 17th, and we plan on stopping in Kennesaw, GA (about 45 mins outside Atlanta). This year, the Braves have an afternoon game on the 18th (1:35 pm) and I will probably be hitting the Atlanta area at about 9:30-10:00 am. Anyone know what downtown Atlanta will look like the morning of a game?

I'm not an expert, but you *should* be fine. I can't imagine that it would be any worse than a normal weekday morning. I'd err on the side of earlier through ATL vs later.

My theory for driving in Atlanta: stay in the far left lane (the carpool lane) and you'll be OK. That goes for anytime of the day or night.
