I-75 Corridor (from MI) to WDW @ Xmas Holidays

DH, myself, and grandson (2 yrs) are driving to WDW (unless there are any good airfares during that time). Our check-in at WDW is on Xmas day and departure is on NYE day. Never have driven down to there from Michigan during this time. Can anyone suggest somewhere south of Atlanta for overnight stay on Xmas eve that is clean and reasonable rates ($70 or so); Also, we want to break the drive up around Knoxville, Tn on the way back on NYE, any suggestions here.

South of Atlanta, we usually stay in a town called Mcdonna (sp?). On the way back we stay just north of Knoxville at exit 108. We stay at a just renovated Hampton. Thier are lots of places to eat, including an excellent chinese buffet.

We live in Oneida, Tn (north of Knoxville). On your way back home, there are several nice lodging locations aroun Knoxville. The Cedar Bluff exit has Hampton Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, and Singnature Inn. On the north side of Knoxville is another Hampton Inn & Suites (Merchant's Drive) and just north of that at the Emory Road exit is a Country Inn & Suites and Baymont Inn. All are close to I-75 with gas and food nearby. I hope this helps.

When driving I allway's purchase along I-75 by dave hunter. The book has every exit from Detroit-Georgia. It will tell you every gas station,hotel and eatery. Every page equals 25 miles. I would book a room ahead of time. I think if you tried marriott or holiday inn on line you could get internet deals at the price you are looking for. I have stayed in Perry and Cordele Ga. These are probably further than you want to drive. I did the drive on Thanksgiving last year and was surprised on how little traffic there was along 75. Susan
