I-10 hotel fort walton/pensacola

Our plan for Dec. is to drive straight thru, it's at least a 14 hour drive though and we are now thinking a stay over about half-way. I dread dirty hotels and the thought of bedbugs but don't want to spend Disney $! Anyone familiar with any decent value rate places or should we just straight drive it?

At 14 hours it wouldn't even be a question for us - drive straight through. But it's what you're comfortable with. We drive straight through the last 2 trips even though we had planned on stopping because it felt right to do so. We made the final call when we were on the road.

Thanks KCP1377. Good idea, I just don't wanta be so road strung that we can't get the tent up! The most ive done solo was to Smokey Mtn Nat Park. With 2 of us should be good as originally thought but playing it by ear IS probably best.
