Anyone who drives from/through AZ on I-10 where do you stop after phoenix to eat/potty breaks?

We top at Quartzsite at the McDonalds and outside Palm Springs on Ramone Drive, there's an In and Out Burger and McDonalds there as well. They are evenly spaced for potty and breakfast/lunch breaks depending on when we leave.

If you stay on the road longer, once you hit Palm Springs there are lots of restaurants there. We usually stop at a Carrow's there.

Though this last trip when I got directions off mapquest I think we bypassed Palm Springs, so check your directions carefully.

Blythe is about halfway between Phoenix and Anaheim, and has a Taco Bell, McDonald's, a couple of other fast food places, and some gas stations.

I have the Pizza Hut in Blythe in my address book on my cell phone, just for this trip.

I usually would say Taco Bell, but the Hut is easy on/off at the Lovekin exit. I like to make my trip as short as possible going there. There are all sorts of chain restaurants in Blythe.

You have to get off the I-10 to actually get into Palm Springs. It's easier just to take an exit and eat at one the restaurants off the I-10.

We just came back on Thursday night (4/24) and stopped at one of those little towns (I totally can't remember but I think it was Blythe). Gas was $4+ at the station I pulled into. The other station down the street was cheaper so shop around. They had a very nice Burger King and Taco Bell on the north side of the freeway (our family doesn't eat McDonald's, except for fries at DL).

On the way out we went to Quartzsite and stopped at the Subway/DQ/gas station on the south side of the freeway. It was nice and clean.

Indio is the 1/2 way point. As that is the exchange spot for my kids to see their dad. There are many restaurants and fast food places. between exits 132 and 147. There is also a nice rest stop at about exit 126 or so. We sometimes have a picnic there.

Hello! Another disney fan from Az. :lmao:

I usually stop in blythe for the bathroom at mcdonald's but I think it's kindive scuzzy...I think indio (name?) is the next good place, wherever that in and out burger is...by the outlets.

Great Outlet Mall by Indio. Just stopped in on Sunday on our way back to my moms place in Wickenburg. We didn't eat anything but there sure is some great shopping. We also stopped in at Hadleys for some goodies.

We have stopped in Quartzite, usually on the way there. There is a BK and Carl's Jr right off the exit and by the gas station. It also seems to be the last place to get decent priced gas before getting into CA. The gas in Blythe seems to be extra outrageous! It was over $4 a gallon when we stopped there on Sun. (DH likes Del Taco and there is one there.) We didn't really need gas, when we stopped there.

We have also stopped at the In-N-Out burger mentioned above. It is close to the exit, easy off, easy on the highway.

There are lots of places to stop along the way, but once you get into CA the gas goes up. It was cheaper when we filled up in Anaheim than it was in the middle of the state. We prefer to stop for quick eats, with "easy off, easy on" access to the highway. We get to DL faster that way ;)

I was the dope that stopped in Blythe to fill up on gas, I just assumed that everywhere in Cali it was going to be that high, but that is not the case!

Me too I always forget that Blythe is in CA not AZ.

I always fill up before leaving Phoenix, then again leaving LA... It's cheaper in the cities than in those places where they know you're desparate if you stop.

The benefits of owning a hybird: I can go each way on just a tank.

Thanks everyone. We are about 20 min SE of Tucson and are kind of planning out where to stop. Yes, I am a major planner. We are renting a mini-van since our car is a cramped 6 seater. Since we never change our "clocks" is there a time difference at the end of Sept.:rolleyes1 I can never remember:confused3:laughing:! Heck today has just been one of those days! My stove caught on fire:scared: and I had a fortunately brief moment of oh **** what do I do! Everythings fine, just have to replace the burner but it was intense at that moment.

What time is it? Time to get a new stove! Sorry, I couldn't resist. Hopefully it didn't light anything else up.

The time change is now in November, it should still be the same time zone the whole time.
