I’m just so disappointed at what this company has become in the streaming age! Disney used to be about art, animation and service!

I didn’t mind that I would pay more because I always felt you got what you paid for. Disney was legendary for doing little things to make your experience magical. Cast members could fix problems because if the customer was happy, they would spend $$

Over the last month we have had an AWEFUL experience that stemmed from an issue with Disney+. Not only were the cast members not helpful, they downright lied to us and wasted hours of our time. Nobody at Disney seems to care. This really should have been minor issue. They could have shown a little service and kept my business but honestly, at this point it is Sooo not about the money. It’s the principal of the thing because it feels like Disney doesn’t care about their customers any more.

I’m ready to divest of all things Disney and no longer visit until I feel the company turns itself around.

Is it crazy to boycott a company over a relatively minor issue when they make you feel this way?

Am I the only one feeling Disney no longer cares about us customers?

I seem to think that Disney is now focusing on live-action versions of films rather than animated films because they think that people will like live-action versions of Disney movies. Because ever since the failure of Strange World in 2022 and the debut of Wish in 2023 this was the start of Disney animation changing it's image and the only film that was successful was Encanto with it's many awards. But in the television department Disney seems to be making new animated cartoons series like Disney Junior has launched the Ariel cartoon series based on The Little Mermaid and animated cartoons seem to help Disney survive. But there are two obsessions that Disney seems to have and those two obsessions are Marvel and Star Wars and it seems that when Disney bought Marvel Disney knew that Marvel would make money for them. But Marvel movies have had some failures too like The Marvels and Thor Love And Thunder and Eternals and in Star Wars they are focusing more on Star Wars centered shows like Ahsoka and Andor and The Mandalorian but they have failures too like Tales Of The Acolyte and Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Book Of Boba Fett. But Disney needs another animated princess movie that will save them and make them huge again. But it seems that they have obsessions with certain princesses to give them star power. The reason why there is so much focus on Tiana starting with Tiana's Bayou Adventure is because they want to make sure the Tiana animated series will be a hit for Disney+ when it debuts next year but what about Princess Aurora Snow White Jasmine Rapunzel Belle and Cinderella and Anna and Elsa? Shouldn't they be more popular than Tiana and Ariel? But I think what would save Disney is a Princess TV series on Disney Channel and it would be a hit. But I really think would save Disney is a Mickey Mouse animated movie in theaters because Mickey does need a new animated movie in theaters like A Goofy Movie did for Goofy

While I do agree with you, I see this pretty much everywhere I go these days.
You are right. I always felt like Disney was different. If they are the same might as well stay at Marriott Hotels (cheaper), cruise with Royal Caribbean (cheaper), go to Universal (more innovative), and stick with Netflix (better content). I don't NEED to pay higher prices for Disney to get treated like garbage like pretty much everywhere else!

That is just how I am feeling at this point.

At Disneyland as we speak. having a great trip with CM's going out of there way to help us navigate this with a broken arm. I am blow away with how wonderful the CM's are. I am sorry you are not having a great experience but that is not my experience at all.

I have to say. The cast members at the parks and resorts continue to be AMAZING! I wonder if that experience is due to the cast members and not the company.

They have outsourced customer service in many areas of their business and while I fully respect all people from all countries, i find outsourced customer service is the root of the problem and the motivation for outsourced customer service is chasing profits rather than service. Disney Vacation Club member services is still based in the USA and those cast members are amazing! I wonder how long that will last with a company that seems to be prioritizing profits over service!

Next to their entertainment I think Disney now is more obsessed with DCL because they have been focusing on the debut of the newest ship Destiny and I think that DCL is gonna make a ton of money on cruises once the Disney Destiny begins it's maiden voyages. But what I think started Disney going downhill was the death of Roy E. Disney and ever since his passing Disney has never been the same since. But what could really help Disney is to try selling ABC and have Disney buy CBS because ever since Disney purchased ABC you could tell that this would mean a new direction for not only ABC but Disney as well. And when Disney has a TV special it's always shown on ABC and I remember when CBS and NBC had Disney TV specials before ABC got their hands on them. Another thing as I mentioned in my post in this thread yesterday is I think Disney is focusing on their Marvel obsession because they think ever since Disney bought Marvel they think Marvel brings profits to Disney and they want to bring more Marvel related things to the parks and hope that their next movies will be hits. As we have seen with Deadpool And Wolverine I think Marvel hopes that Deadpool And Wolverine will still be a hit even when it's released on Disney+ and another thing I find shocking is why Disneyland decided to have a Deadpool character in Avengers Campus and they replaced Dr. Strange with the Deadpool character rather than keep the Dr. Strange character in the parks and this is odd to me. But I mainly think why Disney wants to focus on live-action versions of animated films is they make money and everybody loves them. But I think what also caused the downfall of Disney was in the 90's Disney had a huge obsession with sports movies as we saw with The Mighty Ducks Angels In The Outfield The Big Green Heavyweights and in the 2000's with The Rookie Miracle and Million Dollar Arm and Disney saw sports oriented films as a hit but we need more great animated movies from Disney to be big hits

Sad to say I can't see DH and I returning to WDW any more. Whilst I agree DAS did need the scammers weeding out, denying it to so many who need it is wrong. I used it in the past and would not have been able to enjoy any part of Disney without it, be too stressful and meltdowns would occur. Now hearing that autistic adults are denied, neither DH or I want to risk spending £Thousands only to stay at the hotel as parks would be impossible. Coming from the UK, our trip would have to be paid in full weeks before I could apply for DAS, something we're not willing to do.
Not completely done with Disney as we will be going to Disney Paris next year where, sensibly, you can show proof of disability and get their equivalent of DAS.

I’m sorry you’re caught in the DAS issue. We were thankfully able to get DAS for my 5 year old in this new system but we were certainly on pins and needles. Proof of disability seems like a very reasonable solution and far better than the fear and doubt Disney is currently causing! Just another reason to say No to Disney for now!

Thank you, and pleased your 5 year old will have the help they need to enjoy themselves

Just an update: I had sent a bullet pointed email with the facts, circumstances and case numbers to the executive offices on Tuesday. Today I sent a follow-up. I finally got a call from the executive customer relations team and ultimately they are fixing the issue. Its really crazy that it had to get to this point.

If Disney were wise, they would remember its the little things that cost nothing and make a big impact. Disney was legendary for this, I really hope they return to their roots and bring back the magic company wide!

What I also think caused Disney to go downhill was when they created sequels to classic movies like Cinderella II Cinderella III The Jungle Book II Bambi II Lady And The Tramp II and even 101 Dalmatians II and how and why Disney decided to do this i'll never figure out why. Sure some of the sequels were good but why they created Bambi II and Lady And The Tramp II and how can you create a sequel to Cinderella when it says "And they lived happily ever after" at the end? I felt Cinderella II was not needed because it's more an unreleased pilot episode for a Cinderella cartoon series than a movie. But I wouldn't be surprised if a Sleeping Beauty II was made or a Snow White II was in development anytime soon. But it was failures like Atlantis The Last Empire and Treasure Planet that ruined Disney for good
