Hypothetically, if I were to purchase a DVD contract direct with Disney in November 2025 could I select a use year of August 2026 and have the contract start on that date?

No. You could try to get them to make in an August 2025 and sell back the 2025 points to Disney.

If you purchase in November 2025, your contract starts that day.

If you really wanted August as your use year they would most likely let you do it, but you would have to start paying for your contract and dues now, and would receive August 2025 points to book with/use/bank now, then your points for August 2026 would be useable for trips starting August of 2026
