Hypothetical 4th FP, 2nd Park...what're my odds???

With my DH throwing in an early morning fishing excursion and the DSs wanting to do a waterpark this trip, it's looking like we won't RD Epcot this go-round. Get out your crystal ball, Madame Leota.....

Tuesday, August 27....HS until around 2 pm then likely a short swim break then to Epcot. If we tap our 3rd HS FP at, say, 1 pm, how likely or unlikely would I be to snag Soarin' FP for 4 of us (or TT but we're good doing that at closing when it's darker)???

We are usually one-park-per-day folks but decided to hop for something new. Between that and HS being an unmitigated disaster the week that we go, I'm totally perplexed as to how to plan this trip! Undoubtedly more questions will follow....

For today ( right now at 5:00p ET), Soarin’ is still showing availability for a party of 4 for times after 7:30p. Your luck may vary.

I have no clue what this year will bring, but we were there during the last week of August last year. One day, we did AK with our 3 FP+ in the morning. At about 1 pm, we tapped into our 3rd FP+ and I immediately went into MDE to try to get EP FP+ for later in the afternoon. I was able to get TT. After tapping into TT, I got Soarin' and, while in line for Soarin', I got FEA. We were a party of 2. When you are done with your last FP+ in DHS, I would just go into MDE to see what is available and try to snag Soarin' or TT and then try to get the other one when you are done with the first. You could always do TT as single rider or, if you aren't interested in Illuminations, do one of the rides right before closing with, most likely, a minimal wait.

On past experience I have been able to get Soarin with your exact plan for a group of 3. FEA is always the hardest late in the day. TT is usually easy with Single rider anytime if your party can split up and it looks like your kids are old enough. I have found TT and MS to be very empty about an hour before the fireworks in the past.

Easy as pie. Soarin' isn't all that hard to get as a 4th. The other thing to keep in mind is that the standby line drops to nothing shortly before park close. If you wanted to do TT and Soarin' at night, I'd FP+ TT as a 4th (you can get it with a little work) and then standby Soarin' before park close.

As soon as you tap your 3rd FP, I would start checking for the Soarin' FP. I would take whatever time you can get and then work on modifying it for a better time.
Soarin' is not a difficult to get as a 4th FP especially if you are looking later in the day as most are in WS and not future world.
We found Soarin' FPs available even on a late Saturday afternoon.

If you don’t need 3 FPs for Studios, pre-book 1 or 2 and as soon as you tap into FP#1, book your Epcot FP(s).

It’ll give you a greater chance of booking an earlier Soarin’.

I think you'll definitely be able to get Soarin with that plan. Probably not Test Track.

Last June, we found a 10 minute standby wait at Test Track around 8 pm. The posted wait was 40 minutes. Soarin was even shorter right after that. We had plenty of time to do both before Illuminations.

Not new. You could use your 2nd or 3rd at a different park if you wanted. You just can't prebook in multiple parks.
