Hyperspace Mountain

I think Disney figured out that if you make some small changes to the park, Keyholders are likely to go in just for that and then also buy food and/or merchandise. I could have sworn that when Hyperspace Mountain first debuted, a lot of people didn't like it compared to regular Space Mountain but people seem more excited to see it now?

I don't like Hyperspace Mountain nearly as much as the original. I love the original.

I'm happy for those who wanted it to return. I hope it's gone when we go on June 1st as I want to ride the original.

How long does it normally hang around for?

Is there any chance it'd still be there in September?

Probably not.

My guess is it will be in place through the Star Wars celebration weekend in May. And then it will close for a day before coming back as regular Space Mountain for the summer.

I like hyperspace mountain as a change of pace. I prefer original though. Same with pretty much all overlays. Like I wouldn’t mind world to show up for a month or two if California was the default.

The consistent story is that Disney will turn you away if there are no new reservations available. It’s unimaginable, but seemingly true, that the system cannot convert your current reservation. According to CMs, your cancelled reservations do not become available to you. I don’t know how the system really functions.

The other option is the Hotel Bucket of reservations for people staying onsite. If you book a night at Paradise Pier, as of now, there’s reservations for all of your days.

There are also posts on this board that indicate that you can book a stay in the future and make current park reservations. I have no experience with this so YMMV.
Not sure why you posted this in this thread? Maybe you accidentally responded to the wrong one?

We prefer the original because we feel the Hyperspace version is too bright and you can see too much of the structure of the ride. It’s a better experience when it’s darker.

It's still showing as having hours as Hyperspace Mountain on May 10th. I'm thinking the May 9th date was because that's the date the hours for the park went through starting yesterday. Today you can see the park hours for May 10th.

It's funny - my guess is that the answers contradict each other.

Normally, it's lasted ten months or more. They've never done a "short" run of it.

But, as far as I know, this is the first time they've used the "for a limited time" language for it. To me, that suggests what others are guessing - that it's just here for a few weeks. (It will definitely last through Memorial Day Weekend, if nothing else, given that Star Wars Celebration and the last Star Wars Nite are then.) I'd wonder if they might hold it until POTC re-opens, just to be one more "lure" while it's closed.
