I think the vast majority of people liked Hyperspace, but they're ready for "Classic" Space Mountain to return.

I'm coming for Memorial Day Weekend (and a few days beforehand) so I will fortunately catch this right before they shut it down.

It's my first trip to Disneyland, so I've never been on either version, but I have been on standard Space Mountain at WDW. I realize it's not the same... but... I was still excited to see Hyperspace Mountain, so I'm glad I'll catch it before it's gone.

I seem to have chosen the perfect window by completely dumb luck, because my trip starts right about the time Indiana Jones finishes its refurb but before Hyperspace shuts down. Matterhorn should also allegedly be open by then and furthermore I'll catch the opening of Guardians/Summer of Heroes.

Absolutely none of which was confirmed/announced when i originally chose my dates, haha. Every time they make a new announcement I seem to luck into a narrow window where it doesn't effect me. The things I'm most excited for are the things I CAN'T do at WDW, and all those things fall into that category.

The only slight disappointments for my dates thus far are that the Railroad & Monorail will be down (which wasn't announced 'til recently) and Fantasmic won't be showing (which I've known for a while). Still, I can get past those things. I'll be bummed if I miss Indy or Matterhorn, or a major ride that doesn't exist in the Florida parks.

So off the wall question for a non ride rider would I be able to ride this? When we went in oct I was able to ride BTM, matterhorn and RSR without a problem but we were unable to get on space mountain because of the lines...Yes im a ride wimp *LOL* :confused3

If it's just drops that bother you, you will probably be fine. Having said that, Space is the only ride at DL that I have vowed never to set foot on again. I have motion sickness problems that can pretty much be alleviated with my Smart Band -- but you couldn't get me off Space fast enough the one time I got my nerve up and tried it. Being in the dark and not being able to see what was coming really got to me. About halfway through I started praying for it to end.

It might not always help, but ask to sit in the front row. I've found that there is just enough light that I can usually see what the track is going to do next so it doesn't come as a (complete) surprise.

I, for one, am delighted that "Classic" SM will be back for our trip 6/10-6/16. I have the ride music CDs, and I love the SM music so much!

I haven't riden classic SM since December 2013 so I'm getting excited about it. And also we have the exact same dates lol.

I like both versions. So I'm a little sad that Hyperspace Mountain won't be there just cause I'm such a huge SW fan. But I'm not really disappointed that original SM will be back.
