HydroFlask has changed it's policy for the worse

Right or wrong this isn't the first time one company has stopped doing business with others. I'm sure Dreams will survive this. #firstworldproblems

The reason for the "get over it" comments is because Hydro Flask has said they didn't want to do business, Kevin and the crew have said that even if Hydro Flask changed their minds, they would never do business with them again. There is literally no point to harassing them.

You run a business, you strive to make a profit. Regardless if you are using the water bottle for sales or as a "gift with purchase" or as a reward is really a moot point. You were using the bottles to promote your business. The company, for one reason or another, has decided to not supply you anymore, life goes on, let it go.....

It's a business. Kevin could have said nothing or that the Hydro Flask isn't providing them with product anymore. My point is that neither side wants to do business with each other. Telling others to go "tell them what you think" is pointless. For example, some of the things written on the Facebook page aren't constructive and looks bad. If people for some reason wanted Hydro Flask to see the error of their ways, some of the comments would actually have the opposite affect.

So you're saying he has no responsibility as the instigator? Also generally Facebook and constructive don't belong in the same sentence, I agree. However, that doesn't take away from the fact the what people are writing on the page is not constructive and doesn't have a point. It was only an example because I can see the posts, I can't see everyone's personal emails and listen to their calls.

It seems to me that you feel this is unimportant, yet you continue to post and let your feelings be known.

This seems to be the definition of ironic.

If you are disinterested, uncaring, fed up etc, you can just ignore this thread...but I do find it fascinating that you keep posting to let us all know how you are feeling about this topic.

From their Facebook page....

"We have about 10 hydro flasks that we purchased from Dreams Unlimited Travel"

So if Dreams isn't a retailer what are they then? :confused3

I amuses me that your suggestion was "life goes on, let it go...".

Instigator?

Are you concerned about HydroFlask or just looking to be contrary?

If this doesn't have a point....why participate?

What can I say, when I see something happening that is wrong, I have to say something. Just like you and others on this topic. It's not irony. I care, but it's just about a different aspect of the topic. It seems like you're entire point has to do with the principle of the matter.

Since you believe it's ironic, you shouldn't be have a problem with what I am doing because I am expressing my feelings about the topic to you just like you are telling others to express their feelings to Hydro Flask.

Apparently people don't want to do business with them anymore and still are telling them what they feel. I think we are all doing the same type of thing.

I didn't call you an instigator, someone else did. I was just using the word in reply.

But the other posters are not using words like "pointless", "harassing" or "get over it".

People feel that they had a part in the success of this company. Even if it's a tiny part, the owner called to thank us and offered to add Give Kids The World to their list. This is a direct result of their involvement.

Whether you think that's a big deal or not...those feelings are as valid as your's. Letting someone know that you think this is "pointless" is a bit less than kind.

No one here has told you that your posts are pointless or that you should let it go or that you are harassing.

You are welcome to post and share your feelings, but the minute you start negating the feelings of others....well...then your posts just come across as mean spirited.

When that happens...your posts become pointless.

We are not a retailer.
That's right, and clearly they've chosen to align with sporting goods retailers. But if HydroFlask had chosen to align with travel agencies instead of said retailers, the companies they dropped wouldn't be vindictive.

I'm really kind of floored by all the "get over it" type of comments directed at Kevin and Dreams.

Folks seem to forget that Hydroflask benefited from Kevin's recommendation and then turned around, when it gained popularity, and told Dreams it wasn't wanted.

Clearly based on the letter, Dreams Unlimited isn't the only company affected by this decision. It was a business decision.

It's not personal, it's just business. If a tenth the effort put into blasting Hydroflask were instead directed at aligning with a new manufacturer, DU would probably already have a new product line.

It seems you are assuming this hasn't happened.

Sometimes businesses need to know what their consumers are thinking. Kinda like this conversation.

The difference is that I'm actually responding to your comments....unlike Hydro Flask.

It seems from the bolded statement you are assuming it has happened, based on seemingly no evidence. Nothing anyone has written implies they're still, or plan to be, aligned with other travel agencies. The only marketing sources appear to be sporting goods retailers.

I haven't visited the Facebook page yet, but based on aykna's post, their [former] customers are making their feelings well-known - yet it's having absolutely no effect on their business decision as they expand. Posting every possible bit of contact information for the president and repeatedly encouraging people to bombard him is harassing.

I'm in the "vindictive" business. This doesn't come close to being "vindictive."

My statement about assuming this hasn't happened was in response to this.

Please know that the information posted was not for the President. It was for a customer service supervisor.

As a employee of a company that is very willing to accept criticism and opinion (in an effort to get better at what we do) and even pays for a place for people to voice that opinion (i.e. the Dis Boards), I don't see where sharing your opinion of a business practice is harassment.

Your opinion may be different....but that's what makes us unique.

Would you consider what you are doing...sharing your opinion...vindictive?
No. I'm one person offering my opinions on a forum created for that purpose. I'm not repeatedly encouraging others who agree with me to say or pist anything, I didn't orovide any - much less all - contact information for anyone involved in a business decision, and I won't be keeping this tgread active days after notification.

As a member of the Podcast Team, and this being the DisUnplugged Podcast board and all.....I'm just interacting with the folks that listen to our show and come here to discuss it.

I have mentioned this a total of twice. I posted it here and talked about it on the show.

Also, by continuing to post, you are keeping this thread active days after it was posted. This was posted on 12/17/15.

And finally...I hope anyone that disagrees with HydroFlask's decision continues to write, call, email and stop buying the product if that's what they feel is the correct thing to do.

I didn't realize six posts in just over half a day constitutes keeping a thread alive :confused2 but okay.

Well...it seems that it's just you and I at this point.

11,000 people have viewed it, but you and I are the one's discussing a month old thread.

If that's not keeping it alive...then I'm the one :confused3.

I'm sorry. I had a wobbling ceiling fan to stabilize. It is surprisingly hard to type when your hands are about your head.

Ummm, no. This is a discussion board. :surfweb:

:stir:

I'm still here...;)

I still think they are short sighted on how they treat those who have helped in a large way through word of mouth advertising alone...

Just think of where Disney world would be with out us talking about them all the time...now if they sent you a letter telling you you don't fit the demographic for those dining at, say California grill...and that they wouldn't let you dine there even though you've written a good review read by thousands... you'd be on the DISboards and even more people than they thought would find out about the decision.. about how they don't appreciate your business...you might change your decision to eat there...

Well, the thread was actually started 12/17/14. I'm not sure even 4.5 of the 403.5 hours since this thread originated would be considered keeping it active, much less the hour and 16 minute interaction being cited as such.

I hope that everyone who realizes HydroFlask's change of outlets was a business decision and not personal against any individual or company continues to buy, use, and compliment their product.
