Hello all, I'm new here and beginning the process of planning our September trip to Disney World. My first question of many: has anyone used a hydration pack or camelbac for drinks for their families? Thanks! :)

I wish I took my camelbak last year. We spent ALOT on bottled water.

I plan on taking my Camelbak Mule (older model not as big as current models) this year. It can hold 3L but I plan on only filling it to about 1L and refilling in the parks. And all the pockets should work out great for sunscreen, panchos, wet wipes, cargo net for toys or misting bottles, etc.

We bought a canvas bag at our resort last year for our daily park supplies and it was a pain to carry around. Everything was just floating around in the bag and it took forver to find anything.

My DD7 is heat intolerant and prone to quick dehydration. She consistently drinks LOTS of water (up to a gallon a day) during the summer so she wears a hydration pack any time she is outside for any length of time in the summer. I did not bring it to WDW last time as we went in November and she did "okay" with plenty of bottled water. But, since we are going in August this year, I am definitely bringing it. I find it has two great benefits: 1) good hydration, obviously and 2) if you put ice water in it, it is actually cool against her back and keeps her body temp cooler. When she is in a stroller (due to her heat issues, we use one at WDW) I can hang it from the handle using an "S" hook and drop the tubing down to her so she is not uncomfortable with it on her back. HTH!

We *always* have our hydration pack with us. It's a life savior in our opinion. :thumbsup2

I even bought my brother one to take on our next trip as 7 people would go through 1 bladder pretty fast LOL

I just bought a hydration pack for 2 reasons:

1)The price of bottled water is NUTS and spending all that money on 6 people is crazy!!!!

2)At the suggestion of somebody on here, I bought the Hydr8r at Dick's Sporting Goods. It is just the bladder part without the backpack. I figured out a way to attach it to my sons stroller so it can keep him cool(filled with cold water).
