Does anyone know if Virgin still deal with this hotel as we cannot see it in their brochure.

We would like to stay here upon arrival in the US.

Thanks

Gaz

Do you mean the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress at Lake Beuna Vista?

We stayed there in November with Virgin. Great hotel.

Hi, Goofy Gaz! :welcome:

Why not consider booking DIY? We haven't booked a package since our first couple of trips. We find DIY much cheaper and we can tailor our holiday to suit us. We still fly with Virgin, we just don't book a package.

Let us know if you need any help.

Hi Goofy Gaz and welcome to the Dis :)

When are you hoping to go to Orlando?

Thanks for the replies!!

We are not planning to go with a full Virgin Package. We find it cheaper do a fly drive with them, but not to use their car if that makes sense, and book several nights at the Hilton Clearwater, Several nights at RPR, 2 weeks in a private rental villa and finally 5 days at Disney and a 3 night DCL cruise, the later booked direct with All Seasons Travel. We find it cheaper to hire a car privately for the whole duration than hiring it for 2 weeks with Virgin.

Because we are frequent virgins, we qualify for a 10% discount.

Sorry if it wasn't very clear, but we are looking to stay at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando Airport for the night we arrive.Just wanted to know if Virgin are still showing this hotel?
The plan is to have a good nights rest, get up early in the morning, have breakfast ( love crispy bacon) and drive down to Clearwater for several days, come back up to Universal Royal Pacific resort for 3 nights, 11 days in a Villa and then 5 days at PORS and finally a Disney 3 day cruise. Do I sound as if I am excited :cool1:

This is still very much in the planning stage for August 2007. We have found by experience that planning early can save you lots of £ and also enable you to get added benefits such as choice of flight seats, hotel rooms etc.

Anyway, thanks for any advice and please feel free to ask me any questions

Gary

I have looked through the brochure and cannot see it.

However, we have stayed there before and are doing so on our first night this coming August, because we are going to Miami the following day.

It's a very nice hotel and if you are not staying in Orlando (at least like us for the first few nights) then it's a great idea to stay there, as there are restaurants/bars/shops available, plus the hotel restaurant for breakfast the following morning.
Not having to leave the airport when we arrive will give us a nice relaxed start to the holiday, and we don't have to rush the following morning.
The rooms are up to a high standard too.

I am planning on speaking with Dollar when we arrive, as I do not want to collect the car until the next day when we drive off to Miami.

Strange, but actually really looking forward to staying there, normally we are rushing about and arrive at a villa to unpack and I head off to the supermarket...won't have to do any of that this time :) , at least not until we return for the bulk of our 3 week stay in Kissimmee.

Thanks Johnny,
Your last sentence totally mirrors our way of thinking!!
We fancy just getting there, something to eat, maybe a swim then heads down. :faint:

That's right, but it is a nice hotel and I am actually looking forward to be able pop down to a restaurant or a bar for an hour or so in the evening.
Don't often get the chance with staying in a villa.

Have you thought of booking direct with the hotel Gary? Or sites like www.hotelkingdom.com can do great deals :)

The way you organise your trip with fly drive etc sounds exactly like the way we book ours :)

We have stayed there a couple of times before joining cruises at Tampa. The hotel is fine for a night - and it is nice just getting off the plane and into the hotel. I agree about booking direct.
