i bid and got this property on priceline then found lots of negative reviews on the south tower. dirty, smelly, dark, low cielings, scary, etc. is it really that bad? talked to priceline but you know the drill there.

I also got this hotel for November and talked to priceline too. I have read that you can upgrade to a kids suite for $45 a night. We'll see. Priceline just told me to call if there are any problems when I get there. And to call when I get home because they base their ratings on customer feed back supposedly.

Our friends who travelled with us last week stayed at the Hyatt thru Priceline getting it for $30/night. They got the upgrade for $40/night more. They thought it was well worth it.

We did the same thing when we stayed at the Hyatt 2 years ago. We saw the standard room and then saw the kidsuite. Night and day. My parents stayed in the old tower while we upgraded to the new tower. The problem with the old tower is that everything is of a darker decor, and is old, worn, and weary. It is still kept as clean as a hotel room would be. The newer tower has newer, brighter furnishings, which makes a huge difference.

If you plan on staying in your room a bit and have children in which you need larger space, then perhaps the kidsuites would be a better option. If you plan on being at Disney all day and just go back to your hotel room to sleep, then maybe not...

We upgraded, as did our friends, because the $40 upgrade cost + Priceline bid for the kidsuite is still such a good deal! That room is usually about $200!

It is this hotel (that most that bid through priceline for Disneyland seem to get) that keeps me from bidding on priceline again (at least for Disneyland). The room we were given was not only old and worm but the carpet was very dirty/stained, the ironing board cover was dirty and gross, the bath tub had what appeared to be tooth paste on the bottom. I was able to upgrade to a kids suite for an additional $25 a night which was okay, but deffiently did not make it a deal anymore.

Add to the nasty rooms, you have to pay $12 a night for parking.

The South Tower is definitely worn. There is no way I would stay on that side ever again. I stayed one night and then we upgraded. The North Tower is well worth the 45 upgrade fee we pay per night. New furnishings, granite, modern and more comfortable beds. The south tower has beds that sag in the middle. The hotel lobby is impressive as are there amenities. The shuttle is convenient, they have a Starbucks which had very short hours, pizza hut, also the proximity to good restaurants and the target across the street can't be beat.

Have a great time, it is a lovely hotel as long as you steer clear of the 80's, dated, worn south tower.
