Trip will be 2 adults and we will Uber to Universal or Seaworld a couple of days, but this is mainly a vacation to chill by the pool and not be at parks from opening to closing. We have only stayed off-site once but we had our own vehicle and did non-Disney parks one year with the kids. Do you have any pros/cons to either of these resorts? We had booked Hilton BVP so we could walk to DS in the evenings but reading reviews that rooms are dated and smelly. If walking to DS is not viable we would like a place that has shuttle service. We are not interested in staying at Disney resort this trip.

Hilton BVP is a solid hotel, as you mentioned its within walking distance to DS (via a covered pedestrian bridge) which is a HUGE plus for evening entertainment/dinner/etc.. If you already booked at Hilton BVP I would recommend keeping it, especially with vacation bookings skyrocketing and hotels filling up quickly in the coming months, I would also recommend requesting a room in the main tower for the best views.

The Hyatt RGC is a beautiful property! Their pool area is awesome! Lobby bar is also fantastic. I stayed there in Jan 2020 and booked a lake view room with a king bed and could see the castle and the Contemporary. I loved it there!

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in 2012 for a golf and Disney vacation. It was a beautiful hotel and did have shuttle service to the parks via a drop off at the TTC, although with very limited hours. The last morning/afternoon shuttle departed at 11 or 11:30 am and the return shuttle in the evening was at 7 or 8 pm. The pool area was lovely with wonderful service for food and drink. If my trip was mainly for Disney, most likely would select a hotel with access to Disney Springs to have easier access to the parks. Have a great time!
