We need a one night stay at the Hyatt Airport on a Saturday (Jan 24) but find the rate is double the price of the other nearby hotels. Ok, this hotel is actually in the airport, which is why we want to stay there as we have a very early am depature. Any suggestions on discounts or travel specials that we would be legally entitled to? The current rate is $229 + tax, and I read that last year folks got rates for $89.00. Do you think it is too early to book? Maybe prices will drop closer to Jan, or is the higher rate due to the Sat. night???? Thank you for your replies.

I think $89 is the day rate for poeple who just use the room during the day.

It's high and it's hard to get a deal on this one!

I booked our rooms there through AAA and was able to get rooms for about $179 each - which is still high - but my DH really wanted to stay there. This is for a Friday night stay. HTH a little....

We just stayed there last week. I got a rate of $74.00 off of Hotwire. It always shows up as a 4 star with a trip advisor traveler rating 4.5 out of 5.

This is how I have gotten it for under a hundred as well.

I looked on Hotwire but the only 4 star was listed as downtown. When you booked on HW - did it show up on the airport hotel category? Thanks.

It shows up under 4 Star Hotel in Orlando Intl Airport MCO. I'm not sure when you are going but I justed typed in the date of 9/12 for one night and it was there for $76.00. You could look at that for an example. I think I waited until a couple of weeks before we left before it showed up then I booked but I looked a few times everyday.

I use HW too for Hyatt MCO.

I got it Fri night of Labor Day weekend for $73 and again for Fri 9/26 for $85.
I think overall it's easier to get on weekends as there are fewer business travelers. Pricing thru Hyatt.com reflects this as well, cheaper for Fri/Sat night stays.
If it's not being offered on Hotwire right now, keep checking back. My 9/26 stay was not showing the Hyatt. I had been checking since Apr. or May and it just appeared yesterday. :woohoo:
Still no luck for our pre-cruise stay in Nov.

Also Hyatt sells "stay certificates" where you buy a prepaid voucher for $141 and then you book your ressie. Hyatt MCO requires a "Choice" level cert.

You can change your dates if necessary but they do expire eventually.
I will use this route in Nov. if I still can't get it thru HW.
good luck!!
