Has anybody stayed at the Hyatt Orlando (not the Hyatt Grand Cypress)? We are staying there for 2 nights in Jan., before we head over to Boardwalk Villas for the week. I was able to book 2 rooms for $50 each, per night, on Priceline. I really just wanted something clean and inexpensive for those first 2 nights, any thoughts?

If you are only expecting clean and inexpensive you probably won't be disapointed. I haven't stayed there for a few years now, but when I did, it was ok. Nothing spectacular. But clean.

The hotel consists of 4 clusters of 2 story buildings all with inside entrances. Some of the buildings border on I-4 and look out on the expressway, so make sure you request a room with an inside courtyard view if that is important to you. They do have elevators, so you don't have to worry about stairs if you do get the 2nd floor. One thing to consider, most of the rooms only have showers and do not have bathtubs. If this is something you or someone in your party needs make sure they know about it.

This place really reminds me of your average Holiday Inn as opposed to what I tend to consider a Hyatt to be, but again, it was clean and it is close to Disney World. One thing to note also, the company that owns this hotel declared bankruptcy in I think May of this year. They are under reorganization at this point. Hyatt Hotels manages the property but they don't own it.

I stayed there in March '02 & July '02, rooms are clean, towels, linnen, ect clean. Rooms seemed somewhat larger than All Stars rooms. Definately ask for a room away from I-4 if you can. We stayed in Orange Blossom section, the building is behind the main reception building & was quiet, pool was close by. My only complaint is that I believe all rooms only have walk in showers, they were decent size but if you have little, little ones that might not be used to showers, it may cause issues.

Also, as a suggestion, consult with the website www.biddingfortravel.com before placing priceline bids. you can almost always get Hyatt Orlando for $35/per night, even during holidays!! But $50 is probably still almost a $30 savings from what they may be offering on their own (Hyatts) website.

oh, aslo, their driveway is next door to the Nike outlet, there is alittle (about 4 stores or so) strip mall, a Wendy's and I think a Subway.
