My family of three will be sailing on the Fantasy 9 night, this summer. Flying in the day before. In the past, we have rented a car, driven to the port, stayed at a hotel close to the car rental. We would return the car in the evening, then take the hotel shuttle to the port. Looking now at staying at the Hyatt MCO. Anyone with recent experience? How are the rooms? Do you get the DCL transfer and catch that at the airport or take a private service? TIA

We have stayed at Hyatt MCO several times and taken DCL transfer to port. We prefer it for convenience, however, cost is higher than rental and hotel at the port. Advantage is DCL takes your luggage at the airport and you see it again in your stateroom - DCL bus takes you straight to the port terminal. Again, we love it for the convenience.

We have stayed a couple of times. Very nice rooms! You can't go and stand on the balcony inside the terminal though, that door was locked (I think someone jumped last year). When we used it in 2016 we walked down to the DCL terminal, but this last time the MCO guests met in the lobby and were walked to our own DCL bus. It was nice.

I was there last week for 3 nights. LOVE the hotel! The pool was closed while I was there but should be open this summer. It's so very convenient. That's the best part of it. No waiting for hotel shuttles. The elevators and escalator are in a 'tower' between the two TSA check lines between A4 and B4. Check in is one floor up.

The rooms are good sized. Bathtub/shower combo. Motion light as you enter the bathroom. Tiny bottles of shampoo and cream rinse. Bar soaps at the sink and in the shower. GIANT flat screen TV. Motion lights under the bed when you get up at night. Good lighting including individual "spot" reading lights (like on a snorkel stick you could move around?). Room temp was good. Keurig coffee maker. Safe. Fridge. Also, by the soda and ice machine was a microwave which was very helpful as i like to eat dinner in the room.

The restaurant McCoys was open. I had fish and chips and the recommended crawfish chowder which was awesome. At dinner they have sushi. There is a higher end place with a nice view but more expensive on floor 9 and 10. I didn't eat there.

The food court is pretty extensive but each place has a more limited menu. So don't expect all the options you could get at a normal McDonalds, Chick Fil A, Firehouse Subs, etc. I liked the calmness of McCoys (on the same floor as check in). Looked like a nice bar there as well. Nice Starbucks. Lots of shops pre-Security. I do have to say that snacks were VERY expensive so you might want to bring your own goldfish, or whatever.

The balconies that look over the inside atrium are inaccessible. It makes sense in this day and age I guess as it IS an airport. I had a runway view and those balconies did open. I lucked out on the 10th floor (not a lot of people saying in January and I stayed 3 nights). Found it very calming and pretty quiet. Did hear some construction noise at the pool but only a little in the mornings.

I would definitely stay there again. I didn't do the DCL bus transfer (wasn't cruising) but just being in the terminal makes it easy. The buses are maybe 2 floors down? Very well marked.

The Orlando Airport App is very helpful:
