Hyatt House Anaheim or Hyatt Regency OC?

Hi everyone. I am having a hard time deciding on a hotel. This is a last minute trip, so the hotels closest to DLR are booked for our dates. I have the Hyatt House and Hyatt Regency both booked, and I need to decide which one to keep.

I like that the Regency has it's own shuttle ($11 a day for the 2 of us) and a restaurant in the hotel, but the room does not have a refrigerator (the front desk said they could bring one up for free, but with my luck that will be a hassle). I don't think we would be able to walk to other restaurants from this hotel. We have stayed at the Regency 2 times, so there is a comfort level also.

We have never been to the Hyatt House. I like that it has breakfast, has a refrig and microwave, and is so close to other restaurants. However, they do not have a shuttle. I would rather not add more steps to our long days (DS is 7). I could take an Uber to/from the park, but we would need to potentially mess around with a booster seat (DS will be 8 in 1 month).

The different between the hotels is $19 a night, so that's not a huge factor. Any input is appreciated, as I am really torn! Thank you.

We have stayed at the Hyatt House while going to the parks and really enjoyed it. Great rooms, breakfast, and staff. The walk to the park entrance isn't that far for us but, we have teenagers. Take a taxi or UBER, it's not that big a deal.

I recently stayed at Hyatt House and loved it. Sometimes we walked, and sometimes we rode ART which was very convenient. The walk is only slightly further than Candy Cane Inn.

I just got back from staying at Hyatt House last night in a Queen Studio. I loved how much space it had. The walk to the parks wasn't bad. I would definitely stay there again.

In your case I'd stick to the Regency. You don't want to add more steps to the day so walking from Hyatt House is out. (And while it may be a short walk have no doubts- it's still a nice little chunk of extra walking.) You don't want to hassle with a booster seat so Uber is out... Well, maybe what you're wondering is this: is avoiding the hassle of acquiring a fridge at the Regency worth walking/Ubering each day? In that case I still say no. The fridge is a one time thing, the walk/Uber will happen 2 (or 4 if you take a mid-day break) times each day of your trip.

ETA: lots of restaurants in DTD too that you can access with the

Thank your for the input. I was able to get a room much closer at Grand Legacy. Sounds like that is a reasonable walk to the park.

From what I see on Google Maps you cut your walk in half- 0.3 miles, definitely doable. Heck it looks like it's in that group of Harbor hotels that are closer to the esplanade than the Disney Hotels!

Yes...I was very happy to find an open room at the Grand Legacy. I checked most hotels every day, and it paid off late last night! Thanks for your help. :)
