Husband surprised me!!!

So my husband surprised me yesterday and told me that he has decided that we will use some of our tax credit money from buying our house to take a trip to WDW, rather than do the upgrades on the kitchen that we were going to use it for! The upgrades on the kitchen can wait, so we have decided to put it off until next year, and "do WDW right" instead. Can you believe he was actually going to just not tell me!? I was happy that he decided we should take the trip, but mad that he would actually leave me out of the planning for the trip. He knows that planning WDW trips is like one of the most fun things in the world to me. I have done almost all of the planning for all of our previous trips, so this time he wants to do the planning, of course with my approval. He really wants to stay at AKL, which I am fine with. We have never stayed at a deluxe before. So And the funny thing is, about a week ago I had my Facebook status listed as "wants to be planning another WDW vacation". LOL! Wishes do come true!

I would have been in the same boat as your emotionally. Jazzed that he would have went to the trouble to do the suprise but disappointed b/c the planning is what I love. Sounds like you got the best of both worlds as he is letting you in on the big secret now.

OMG!!! We are doing the same thing!! As soon as we realized that we qualified for the $6500.00 credit (it's not our first house), we looked at each other and said DISNEY! We are planning for sometime next summer. With a DD in college and another one in HS there is just no other time. Just waiting patiently for the rates to come out and praying for a pin code or free dining again! The improvements on our new house will still be here when we get back!

lol! my dh just did the same thing! he found great prices on flights down to disney and called me and said we are booked! and we will not be updating our kitchen either this fall d/t our love for disney....
We both agree disney is more important than granite countertops

My DH did the same thing to me for our December '09 trip. He said that he was going to surprise me with the whole thing but decided he knew better to let me know about it (the only thing he did do was book the resort which was BC and bought the airfare tickets, all I had to do was plan out our meals and our park days). I was really excited that he surprised me with a trip (which was for my birthday BTW) and was equally excited that he let me do some of the planning....I love the whole planning part of it Congratulations and have an awesome trip.
