ok it has been suggested that i might be a woman( checked and pretty sure no) because i can and will cook, clean, and take care of the house while my dw is out running our home repair service. i bake bread aand stuff, i like cooking , it gives me an artistic, well at least creative, way to be semi active, drs still wont let me drive or do anything outin yard,, dw is building our deck and reworking our landscaping, we are still waiting on the installers to put in the pool. soo what serious odditiies does your s o do? does hubby maybe sew? or cook? or clean? just curioous to see if i am the odd ball, or if moore men really act this way and just dont wantto admit it,, oh yeah,, btw... ( about to get bashed) i seriously dont care for pro sports :)

My husband does the laundry!:p

(But I mow the lawn - does that makes us both odd??)

My DH will cook, wash dishes and he will also do his own laundry.::yes::

Hi Jeff,
My DH does most of our cooking, helps me with the laundry, and 100% of the sewing in this household. I do clean up the dishes, fold the laundry and take care of picking up the house otherwise, but he is an angel to me! And not at all odd. Oh, he will even vacuum if I ask him too. The only thing he draws the line at is emptying the litter boxes! :D
You are not an oddball, you are a blessing!
Oh, yeah... he doesn't watch sports either! (But he loves old movies.)

lol.. that sfunny,, i refuse to do litter boxes either:)

My dh vacuums. I had to take a vow I would never touch it again. Almost broke and now I know what gets him mad! :p

My BF loves to cook and he's a really good cook! He isn't too keen on baking though. Cleaning? Ahhh - so-so I guess. He doesn't mind going grocery shopping either, and that's great because I hate it. :crazy2:

His quirkyness is in imitations -- he can imitate just about any political figure or talking head that you can imagine! He sounds just like them and he's hysterical. :p

He doesn't watch pro-sports either (although he watches on occasion), but he LOVES college sports, especially basketball.

I forgot to mention that Otto goes through the sale ads each week and is in charge of groceries as well. (I go with him, but only cause I usually carry the checkbook!)

I wish I could get BF to cook, but I guess I should be thankful that he does laundry, irons, sews, and he actually enjoys going to the mall and shopping!

DH doesn't watch sports and is the only one in the family that can sew

My dh does most of the big cooking, except christmas dinner. He does the dishes and also takes care of DS for the first few hours at night so I can get a good 4 hour sleep. Perhaps the more "odd" thing is he dosen't mind getting woman hygine products for me at the store.

I love him :)

Growing up, my dad has always contributed to cleaning, cooking, doing the laundry. He really does everything my stepmom does and it doesn't seem in the least bit odd. However, my stepdad is a whole other story. He's a fair bit older than my mom and comes from the days when woman strickly stayed at home and men went to work; that's the way he was raised. So he rarely does the dishes. I've never seen him vaccum or dust. My dad is more on the artistic side too so he'll bake a nice cake for a special occaisions. And for a while when he was a single dad, he learnt to do french knots in my hair, everyone thought he had brought me to a hairstylist, ahaha I'm very proud of him for being so involved in that way.

DH and I always laugh about the fact that I am the big sports fan in the family. He has absolutely no interest whatsoever in watching sports at all, whereas I, OTOH.....

He usually watches TV in the family room while I watch in the bedroom and we each have our remotes set with our favorite channels. My faves include ESPN, ESPN2, and Fox Sports South.
His faves include Lifetime and Oxygen! He's always been great about watching chick flicks with me. Are we backwards, or what:crazy:

Of course, he, along with our DS14 are both gearheads and spend hours watching Monster Garage, Pimp My Ride and stuff like that which I can't stand.

My husband likes to do household chores. He finds it relaxing, especially doing dishes. :) I don't consider it an oddity. I consider it a blessing. ;) (My FIL was/is also one to "help around the house." :))

I'll stop there as far as "oddities" go, as I would not wish to risk embarrassing my spouse. :)

I hired a lawn service for dh b/c I'm never home to do the cleaning stuff around here. Matter of fact I got home from school last night and he had changed the sheets on the bed, cleaned the bathroom, washed, dryed, folded, and put away towels, vacuumed the floors, and the kitchen was clean. I love it!!
However...cooking is completely up to me...I'm still trying to teach him the difference between broil and bake.

Oh yah...he's not a big sports fan either. We watch Nascar together on Sundays and he occasionally watches Baseball games. Last year he watched the World Series just to see the Yankees lose :p

I totally understand where you are coming from Froggy...

Me? I do it all, I cook, clean, do the laundry, take ou tthe trash, fix things.

I LOVE "chick flicks" and I'm a completly hopeless romantic.

I do love sports too.

Oh and I think kids are the most amazing people in the entire world!

::sigh:: I'm so the perfect catch for some Disney Princess :groom:

LOL! I was banned from this duty yesterday! It was an accident, I swear! I didn't see the dog, and he's too old to hear the vacuum. I DIDN'T mean to vacuum his tail! :teeth:

He's fine, BTW, his tail is just a lot shorter! :( :teeth:

My DH does all the dishes, but I still do most of the cooking and baking! But I love to cook and bake, so it works out well.

Probably his biggest "quirk" is that he can braid DD1's hair and is proud of that fact!! He cannot manage DD2's hair because hers is very fine and slippery, but he is a pro with older DD's hair!

My husband is a total neat freak, he can't stand living with me, lol. When he vacuums, he makes these perfect lines in the carpet. He will also do laundry, but I do most of it.
