I have been doing most the planning for our up coming trip and my husband will every now and again check what i am doing.

i told him about early entry and late entry nights. iam now up to planning what days to visit what park based on late night.

have looked a the november ours on the website which have magic kingdom closing at 9.oopm. I am right is saying it will close to us (resort guests at 12 with wristbands right) he thinks it closes at 6pm with the extra 3 hours already on top to close the park at 9.00pm.

please help. my understanding was that you take the published close time and add 3hours for night and one hour for the morning open time.

You are right. :) He is wrong.

Disney publishes the hours the park is open to the general public. That's what you see on their website (as not everyone stays on-site).

You add three hours to the offical public closing time, so yes, it will be open until Midnight at the MK on an EMH night where the park closes to the public @ 9PM.

N.E.D.

It was funny when DH sent me to the puter to look up disney info then didn't want to believe the info I got. He kept sayin you can't trust nothing on the internet. Needless to say I proved him wrong!!!!

I think what is was he only would have went to the official disney site and gotten park hours and prices and would have thought he had trip planned (roflmao) It took him a few trips but he's learned to trust my trip planning.

IF there are extra magic hours, then you can stay until midnight, but remember that EMH's are not every night.

Are wristbands required in advance to enter park for extra evening hours or can I show up at gate and show them our resort IDs??

I am confused - what do you mean add an extra 3 hours, I am staying onsite, am I missing something here? :confused3

IF it is an EMH night for a park, that park stays open an EXTRA 3 hours for resort guests only. You must show your room key to get a wrist band, everyone else has to leave (ar actually can't get on rides and is encouraged to leave).

However, there are some reports here that suggest they are way too crowded for rides. The parks are magical to walk around after dark though. Just that lots of people avoid these things at all costs because of the crowds (and others love them, so plan accordingly)

I was just in Disney in May. We had EMH in the Magic Kingdom the night we were there and to tell ya the truth, I don't know anything about wristbands. All we had to do when we got to the ride we wanted to go on was show them our Resort ID. But we never left the park between before and after the EMH. We stayed all night. But like I said, we never had wristbands. I'm not sure if it's different if you leave the park and come back for the EMH. I would assume you just need to get your hand stamped before you leave the park (like usual) and when you come back, have your resort key with you.
:confused3

so let me get this right we are staaying on site (@ the GF) say on Sept 28th we can stay 3 hours longer at MK ?

How do you get the wrist band?

Looks like Sep. 28 is an Evening MH at MK. You would need to show your resort ID card starting sometime after 4pm and they will give you a wristband. You wear the wristband and you can stay in MK 3 hours after it's posted closing hours.

the wristbands are passed out in various places, you can usually get them by the front gates.

The post above that lists the rides also lists locations where they pass out the wrist bands. I would post a new thread asking about SOG, it is not owned by Disney and I am not sure if it is included or not. a few non Disney owned resorts are included (Swan and Dolphin, I think). But I am really not sure about SOG.

Yes, but only if you have valid admission that day. In other words, you must have a ticket to the theme park for that day - you can't just show up after clsoing and use your resort ID to get in. SO, ticket + resort ID = extra hours.

And Shades of Green has always been included as a Disney resort - I can't imagine that it wouldn't be included in EMH as well.

yeah I will have my park hopper for that day (and resort ID) I was going to do a park in the morning early afternoon stay around the hotel say 3-7 go to dinner somewhere then go to MK - that would be fine right? we are sure I will get in?
