I've been home a couple weeks with my family since my wife had our last baby. I do my own bit of "nesting" by doing something in the house to improve it. This time, I'm doing the floor in a couple rooms. Well, after four hours on the floor yesterday, I'm in hell!
I've upped the dosage to 5 ibuprofen (yeah, I know I shouldn't), ben gay, and a heating pad. I still can't move without feeling excruciating pain. So I guess I'll hang out here most of today since I can barely even play with my kids. But they got a new trampoline the other day, so they don't need me!

And tha nk goodness for my SIL and nephews for being here to entertain the kids while I cringe in pain. They even made us all lunch.

I just went through the same thing! I hurt my back Jan 6th shoveling snow. I tried to make it through work for a few days on ibuprofen...it didn't help. I finally went to the doctor and ended up at home for 2 weeks, and now I'm doing physical therapy. It must be really hard with a new baby in the house! I was given muscle relaxants, and pain meds which I couldn't take at work (unless they would pay me to sleep on my desk all day  ) I'm MUCH better now...hopefully yours won't last too long!

I'm hoping a day's rest and a night's sleep will make a difference.

Going to the doctor tomorrow. I need some major league drug relief. The pain has travelled to my abdomen. Feels like I'm being split in two.

I still would try a Chiropractor. Drugs will mask the symptoms (pain), but the problem will still be there. :)

I hope you feel better soon. :)

My back went out (literally getting out of a van) this past November. I tried to make the pain go away with a bunch of Advil but after a trip to ER in the middle of the night when I got to the point I could barely walk, I ended up with some major pain killers, muscle relaxants and 8 visits to physical therapy.

Good luck!! I still take the muscle relaxant now and then when I feel a "twinge". I was out of work for two weeks which I can't afford again!!!:earseek:

Yeah, and I've already been out of work two weeks. And I'm on commission, I CAN'T miss time. Hopefully, I recover enough by Thursday.

I don't think my back went out, but it sure does hurt!
