Hurt Feelings

just being curious, how does everyone deal with hurt feelings?

i recently just teched my last show in highschool. and on the drive home, i realized that in the four years ive been on stage crew, not once have i heard a thankyou from anyone. honestly, i can never recall a time when someone in the cast or another part of the crew just said "hey, thanks." im a little "hurt" about it, but not crying my eyes out.

I have a quote from my brothers year book from a few years back.

I'm not going to say it word for word:

"They the guys who make the show run smoothly. Lights, lights off. Nobody even knows you're there, until you screw up and 1000 heads all shift towards the back of auditorium."

I just have time to reflect about my feelings. Like jogging or just sitting and thinking.

I'm in plays and I don't run stage crew. But without you guys there would be no show. You wouldn't have a great experience to watch the play. You guys make the show happen. You make it what it is. The actors may act and sing but just picture the play without a backgroung or lighting.

I'm on stage crew at my school. I don't do anything, because we don't do high end stuff.
But my brother is the director of the AV Crew at school, and all the plays I've seen there have been marvelous, but because of the work that people put into it, that don't even speak or appear of stage. The muscians in the orchestra pit, the AV Crew, the set designers, etc.

I can honestly say I've never thanked a techie. They make things so difficult for us during our plays that they don't deserve it.

I normally vent to one of my best friends.

P.S. I love techies. We have our techie named Barry and we all love him to death. We're always sure to thank our orchestra too. But hey we're a community theatre not a High School so it's probably different.

i used to sit there try and fight the tears and listen to music now i just seem to smuile whenever anyone insults me and give them a jokey insult back. if like noone said something to me i just smile and listen to music
