"Hurry & fly away to Neverland before it's too late!" Trip wrap up page 30

Can not believe how close your trip is!
Those last pics of the castle are so pretty!

This looks really neat! I hope they do this again this year. Maybe we'll get information when we check in. I didn't see a time listed on the page.

Have you read the Dear Miami article in The Times-Picayune?? It's hilarious!! See my ptr.

I think we've just about agreed on how we're going to spring the trip on the girls.

We start driving on Friday the 12th and Jada flies out on the 13th.

A little background information is needed. Danielle is 10 and has pretty much outgrown the Princesses except for at Disney. And even there she has been reluctant on the last few trips. In 2006 I brought her Belle costume from Halloween for her to wear to the Princess Storybook Breakfast and it never left the car. I have asked her if she would like to try the BBB on past trips and her answer was no, until she actually saw some girls dressed in the parks. I could see her wheels turning and the little bit of envy in her eye the last 2 trips. Finally after our June trip she admitted she would like to go to BBB and dress up for a meal. This was big step for a 10 year old who thinks she's getting too old. Sometime before Christmas I got an email about costumes being on sale. She was sitting by me and instantly took a liking to the red and gold Belle costume. Note taken and filed away. With Christmas almost upon us I just didn't have the funds. I figured if it was still there after Christmas I would order it. Luckily it was. I ordered it and had it shipped to my office. I called Jada and told her. Now Lauren may be 10 too but she doesn't have an older sister and enjoys being her age and still loves to dress up. Of course when she around Danielle she doesn't enjoy it as much since it is frowned upon. Jada couldn't wait to get a dress for Lauren too. In the past Jada always dressed her in Cinderella costume and frankly Lauren has grown quite tired of them. After much discussion Jada got her to agree to an Aurora costume since the Princess Frog one was sold out.

I knew I wanted to incorporate the costume in the surprise. Michelle very much wants to be a part of the reveal too. So this is what we have planned so far. I have Friday to pack, since I really can't do it before hand. After I get Danielle off the school I get into my packing frenzy. I will pretend to work that day. I'm going to tell Danielle she has a dentist appt and that since I'm working Michelle will be checking her out to take her. After she has been checked out, Michelle will tell her she has to go by work first. Michelle works at a cajun restaurant near out house. We'll be waiting there with a big box. The dress will be wrapped with lots of tissue paper surrounding it. As she unwraps the dress there will be an invitation. Upon opening the invitation she will read something like this "Your presence is requested at Cinderella's Happily Ever After dinner on (Date) at the 1900 Park Fare at GF, Royall attire is requires. Then a few spaces down it will say "Yes you're going to Disney World! Right now!" Jada will check out Lauren too, with what excuse we haven't worked out yet so she'll have a present and invitation too. We're hoping they open them together and don't get ahead of one another. Poor Jada she doesn't leave until the next day and I just know Lauren will be beside herself with excitement and we'll already be on our way. Jada is hoping she'll actually be of some help with the packing.

So what do you think? Any suggestions?

I just got a chill reading that. It is AWESOME! How I wish I could have the self-discipline to ever keep a surprise like that!!!! (I clearly don't....)

Can't wait to hear all about it and see your scrapbook pages on it later. I'll feel like I was there... Well... almost.... wanna take me along??? :goodvibes

So do you think it will work. I'm really having a hard time keeping my mouth shut. Dennis and Michelle are sure I'm going to let it leak. I'm hoping the surprise will be worth it.

Wish you could come along Janet!

YES it will work! I can't even imagine how much fun that moment will be. Now I'm off to pack my bags!! :cool1:

That sounds awesome!! One day we will surprise the kids with a trip. I love seeing them marking off the days on the calendar right now, though. We have a yellow Belle dress and a Snow White dress for Kaelyn, but nothing really for Kinley. I did buy her a bunch of Disney t shirts a few weeks ago. I know if one wears a dress, the other will have to too.

This is the first time I've attempted the surprise trip. Normally I can't do it. I love talking about it everyday and having someone else get excited with me. Danielle is usually the only one who shares my excitement. Dennis and Michelle get tired of listening to me. But this time because we're all sharing the secret they have gotten more excited with me.

You're girls are going to be so pretty in their dresses. Normally I've gathered some Disney shirts too, but this trip it's been more about wearing our team colors.

I have loved the tr and can't wait to hear about the next trip!!!

Thanks so much! I hope we have trip worth reporting this time around. I need to finish our last day and our departure day too.

So it was finally here, our last park day. The day one of the days you dread the most. Everywhere you look you can't help but think, "I don't know when I see this again or do that again". At this time I didn't know when we would be going back. Not if, just when.

The night before Tena has told me she wasn't going to be getting up early with us for rope drop. She wanted to sleep in a little. I was just fine with that. I had told her before we went that she didn't have to keep up with me, that this was her vacation too. I reminded her of that and again and was secretly happy that Danielle and I would have a little time alone. We knew we wouldn't have to rush to get FPs for Toy Story since Tena had her pass. She was really enjoying her pass, it meant she could tour her way without rushing around.

Danielle and I got up at our regular time. As we were leaving Tena and Bailey were getting up. Poor Bailey, because we were heading out she had to go with Tena while she had her first smoke of the day. On the previous mornings we were always in the room with Bailey. After breakfast we caught the bus for DHS and were in line waiting for the park to open. While we waiting they made the announcement that the Idols producer was walking around looking for anyone who wanted to try out. Idols is one of our family favorite shows and of course Danielle is absolutely sure she's the next American Idol, only she's not old enough yet. When the guy got to us he asked if we were the next AM Idol? I told him Danielle thinks she is but she's too young. He was really nice and talked with us for a good 15 minutes then moved on to try to find the day's star.

When the turnstiles open we rushed in and I took these pictures.

We lined up with everyone else to see the opening show. When the rope dropped we headed down Sunset Blvd while most headed to Toy Story Mania. I used our tickets to grab 2 FPs for the girls to ride RRC, then we jumped in the line for Tower of Terror. This is my favorite ride in Disney World. I love to loose my stomach. Danielle is just okay with it. She's still a little scared of the ghost stuff. She did really good and really seemed to enjoy it being just the two of us.

After our ride we went back towards the front and called Tena, they were on a bus headed our way. While we waited I took this.

We also took some photopass pictures.

And yes we did all dress alike this day. Lime green!

Once they meet up with us we all headed to TSM.

We passed this.

Since we used Tena's pass we didn't get to see much of the neat stuff inside.

More to come!

Within minutes we were on the ride. We loved it! So of course we went right back and got in line again.

After our second ride we exited and headed for Sunset Blvd. We left Tena at the smoking area right at the end of the street and we headed down the Blvd.

This is Danielle's favorite ride and she couldn't wait to share it with Bailey. I've ridden it twice and both times it left me a little dizzy. I've always had an inner ear problem, I also can't do round and round at all. I waited for the girls in the dump shop. I was lucky and got this shot of their ride photo.

This is what they looked like when they got off.

I love the pictures the photopass person got on our way out.

We grabbed FPs for Tower of Terror and headed up the street to meet Tena. As we got there we saw people getting into position for High School Musical. Danielle really wanted to see this show, but Bailey wasn't interested. We split up and they went to do a little shopping. We liked the show but one of the most entertaining parts were the sign language people, not only were the signing but they were acting it out too.

It was getting late and we were getting ready hungry. We couldn't agree on a place to eat so we split up. Tena and Bailey went to Backlot Express and Danielle and I headed to Pizza Planet. We had eaten at Backlot the last trip. I had eaten at Pizza Planet way back in 1999 but Danielle had never been there.

I jumped in line and Danielle went to find us a table. We ended up sitting upstairs which I had never even seen.

A couple of pictures on the way back out.

We checked back in with Tena but she said they were just now sitting down to eat. So we just kind of played around the area.

We wandered over to the Jedi training and watched for a little while.

Finally we meet back up with the others. It was time to use of FPs for Tower of Terror. Maybe not such a good idea on a full stomach but we did it anyway. No one came away with any ill feelings. We grabbed another set of FPs RRC for later.

That's it for now!
