ALSO:
WKMG Local 6 in Orlando is reporting that Tropical Storm Adrian is forming in South America and is moving north east at about 40 mph. According to Chief Meterologsist Tom Sorrels "storms in the pacific usually do not impact Florida and the carribbean as most of the time they head west. This is a little different and tracks the storm to be over the Bahamas by noon time Sunday." Ofcourse by then Adrian expected to only be a depression when it passes the Bahamas.

Normally this would not effect Florida, but their saying the Atlantic waters are already warmer than last year & apparently this can cause the tropical storm to hit Florida. I'm not an expert just relaying what i've read on the US part of these boards,
fingers crossed the weather experts have got it wrong :guilty:

Wow, I wasn't expecting a storm lik ethis to develop so soon in the year, were not even in the 'official' Hurricane Season yet!

Interestingly it has formed in the Eastern Pacific and looks to be tracking across Central America and into the Gulf of Mexico. I think this is quite uncommon as storms in this area usually track East to West.

It is likely that this storm will lose a lot of intensity when it crosses the Central American land mass.

I'll try and post some graphics and a new update tomorrow :)

.............will those be the new "and improved  " BBC weather graphics Alan?? :teeth:

Hope this summer wont be as bad as they forecast. :wizard:

Everyone needs to remember they struggle to predict the weather in Florida just 1 day ahead so this prediction should'nt be enough to worry anyone just yet...

Sadly not Splash :( the BBC doesn't have much of a Central America weather section

As promised here is the image from the NHC though showing Adrian intensifying to Hurricane strength just before making landfall but quickly being weakened into a tropical depression once it's over the land. It then continues into the Gulf over the weekend but is not expected to re-intesify.

I'll update later tonight if anything changes :)

Alan, I knew I could rely on you! Remember we will be out there in August

Looks like Adrian wont go anywhere near Florida at the moment, lets hope it stays that way, not that im wishing it on anyone else of course.
