Going soon on the Wonder and Wonder..ing about the many hurricanes out there. What happens if the hurricanes start going where the ship is?

I can enjoy any cruise, rain or shine. I cruised during the cold spell last January and LOVED it, but hurricanes??? I just don't know.......

Having never cruised in the fall I don't know about the rough waters or not. Any thoughts about these issues?

Thanks fellow cruisers!!

The ships do everything possible to avoid bad weather and will alter their itineraries if necessary.

I've cruised during hurricane season many times and on one sailing there were THREE active storms, and we did alter the course. It was a day-to-day thing on where we would end up, which actually was fine.

Enjoy your cruise! :)

Just Wonder..ing if the prices for cruising during potential huricane season are any cheaper then regular, Also if you do get diverted to another port what happens to your excursions, when do they tell you this, and do they offer other exscusions in the new port, or does this rarely happen??

Yes, cruising in the fall is typically the least expensive time to go. And if they divert your cruise they tell you on the ship, it's usually a day-to-day thing, and yes, they do have shore excursions wherever they go. :)

When we cruised last October we were diverted to San Juan, Puerto Rico. As Michelle said, decisions are made day to day. In my opinion, they did a good job keeping us informed. Once they decided to dock in San Juan (a place the Disney ship had never been before), they were busy coordinating excursions, shopping info and info about the city. I think they did a great job in a short amount of time getting information together for us. Some people were ticked because DCL people couldn't answer all questions. But you figure this is not a typical stop and they pulled together a lot of info as quick as they could. July-October is hurricane season in these pasrts and you need to remember that when you make plans during that time. Disney goes above and beyond in making our experiences "magical" but they have yet to figure out how to control that pesky Mother Nature!

FYI...

Hurricane Season is June 1-November 30
