Hurricane Wilma's track

hi
having been caught up in hurricane jeanne last year (we just made it to the hotel before the curfew was annonced apparently we were the last flight into sanford) i would take care. certainly don't cancel unles you are told to but be aware that the wind and rain is really vicious and do stay inside if told to. the noise from the srorm was unbelievable and you could not see more than 2ft throught the window. it carried on for 24hrs i have to say the hotel was magnificent. they cobbled together an evening meal and three meals the next day. the curfew was lifted at 6pm and we went for a quick walk along to walgreens and back. there were signs of devastation everywhere. orlando is geared up for hurricane damage limitation, and issue warnings at frequent intervals; after that it was sunshine and blue skies all the way!

Looks like landfall will be just south of the Fort Myers area. Possibly a Cat 2/3 depending on how organised she gets over the next 24 hours. As of now Wilmas looking in pretty good shape considering she was over land for so long.

Writing this fom AKL all parks are closed this morning but to be honest the storm in Orlando is nothing worst than we get in the uk on a wet and windy day.

I have got to agree with woodfamily, Here in Orlando the weather is like Uk on a very wet and windy day. 2 pm and the sun is starting to peep through. It is much colder now though 56 degrees. This makes a change from the feel like 105 very humid weather we have had since arrival. the locals tell us the heat has been more like August.
I think in future I will stick to November!
