So Florida is expecting thier first of the season in the next 5-7 days it's name is Chris it is currently a tropical storm but with the heat and humidity it is supposed to reach hurricane strength in the next day or so. Everyone heading down in the next while try and keep dry in the rain you will see from it.

Yikes! :scared:

I only hope that the hurricanes stay away for DS and his DGF and her family (they have 10 altogether) going to WDW Sept 23rd and we're also headed back Oct 26th! :sunny:

Forecasters say that the hurricane season will be a weak one.....let's hope! ;)

The headline for Chris this morning was 'Weakening in a hurry' :thumbsup2

"Weakening in a hurry" is the phrase that the National Hurricane Center is using to describe Tropical Storm Chris this morning.

It's still possible that Chris could regain some strength as it moves toward Cuba and into the Gulf of Mexico, but it appears more likely that the storm will continue to weaken and could even dissipate.

No need to panic. ;)

Well that is good news now lets hope the entire season is like that. Hurricane season is just one more reason we will not travel to Florida in the summer or fall we stick to Dec it is by far teh best time to go.

Here's a good website to do some hurricane watching if you're interested;

We went to WDW in September, during a very active hurricane season. We went just after one hit and the Orlando airport closed and just before another was predicted to hit Orlando. When we left the Orlando airport was NOT open yet but just opened while in flight to Galveston Texas. it turned out to be an awesome time to travel because WDW was dead! we managed to go on many rides over and over again! It was awesome because we had enough time to do Discovery Cove, The Kennedy space Center and Universal because if this!!! Would I do it again? Probably!
