Hurricane....ugh

I don't know if WDW has a plan to accommodate those Fort Wilderness guests with Pets but I would also check with Best Friends Pet care too as an option, although I am sure they are (or will be soon) very full. Still, it's worth a look.

Thanks for your input. WDW did put us up at All Star Movies last night and throughout the storm, but we are going to head northwest for a couple days and then come back hopefully by Saturday!

Looks like some predictions are showing that Matthew will be a Category 4 Hurricane for most of the time it's impacting Florida. Whatever you do, please do it safely.

Disney put us up in Coronado Springs, until our checkout Saturday. We really enjoyed the hotel stay last night after tent camping, but we made the tough decision to head home early today. Better safe than sorry! Everyone stay safe!

We were notified while out and about and did our "move" over the phone. We were sent to All-Star Music but with no instructions on what to do with the camper (always best to deal with the Fort direct!!!!). We parked it there. About 1:00 in the morning we got word that it should be in the lot at the Magic Kingdom. By this time winds were expected to possibly gust up to 70 MPH and we would be close to or on the end with a 4600 lb Airstream. We decided to cancel and bug out (had 9 days left!!!). They said if Matthew veers any to the east, the Fort could be closed thru Sunday. Lost the 1st 2 days but never got to use the tickets so we are good there. Hope everyone who was still at the Fort as we were leaving stays safe! Hope to return next year.

I wouldn't have wanted to leave my Airstream (hypothetical, I have a pop up :D ) out in that either. Safe travels!!! Thinking of everyone there

@tiggerdad ,

Where did they evacuate your squirrels to? :squirrel::squirrel:
The same bunker where they keep Walt's frozen body, Jimmy Hoffa, D.B. Cooper, and the map to Atlantis. Right under old River Country.

This thing is building up pretty good. Another wish for safety to you guys in the path of Matthew.

Any word on how the Fort or WDW in general is doing?

Just saw Disney Spring opening at 5:00pm to Disney resort guests only. The curfew is ending at 2:00pm.

Anyone heard anything about Fort opening back up?

I called the Fort a little while ago, to see if we could come back to the Fort in the morning and just leave our camper in the overflow parking lot until the Fort opens. The CM said that they couldn't let us even do that.

I just got off the phone with our TA and she has spoken with CM's and The Fort may reopen as early as tomorrow evening They claim little damage done to The Fort.

Online it said the fort was only closed today but on the phone I was told Sunday. Are they telling everyone there late tomorrow?

It'll be good if there is only a little damage at the Fort.
