Hurricane, Tropical Storm protocols at WDW

So glad to hear no one has lost electricity or TV-I would be ok being room/resort-bound, as long as those two things were still working.

I'm curious to know if they relocate all of the FW campers to resort rooms for no additional charge.....

As far as I know, the tent campers and then the people in trailers at Fort Wilderness are taken care of as much as Disney can do. In my experience and my family's experiences, Disney first thought is not with operating the parks but with taking care of their guests and their Cast Members.

As I said before, people evacuate TO Disney World.

We had a minor deal with hurricane Frances. Had 6 teenagers with us at OKW. On our last day, emergency procedures were posted under the door and on the phone. We never did get to experience Frances in WDW as it was our last day. All I remember is that we got the last flight out of MCO before it closed.

That being said, my career was in security and emergency services and I remember thinking how well WDW was prepared to handle their emergencies.

I don't believe there were any addtl costs. It wasn't a voluntary thing...those guests had to leave! So that would make it awful if Disney tried to charge for those 'upgrades'. They were scattered all over the place....wherever there was an empty room. It could have been chaotic, but Disney did an incredible job.
