Hurricane Frances

I'm here too. I live right behind Universal and never lost power but lost cable modem at around 10 pm and got it back about 11 am on Saturday and then it went back out again. I had a couple of roof leaks in the apt that I'm in. The maintenance guy said that he had bad news for me. He then told me to pack and go away for a couple of days until he could get the drywall and the roof fixed. Hopefully the contractor will be in today like promised.

Melbourne resident here checking in. We survived with very little damage. Lost our fence and still have no power/water, it's HOT!! but I know it could be worse for sure. I had to come in to work today- at least it's in the A/C!! Glad to hear everyone else faired well.

Only have power at work (lucky me  ) - power at home has been out since Thursday & the estimate is that it will be on by midnight on the 10th.

Minimal damage down south in Ft. Lauderdale area - our fence blew down, but we have already replaced it - other than that, it's lots of debris & the power issue that seems to be taking it's sweet time.

That "no power" thing is tough. Sleeping is rough. All the food goes bad and stinks. How did they do it back in the day?

I'm popping my head in to confirm what phamton said. Once Sprint DSL is active again, I'll be posting more! I'm on a 15-min comp at the library right now...

All I have to say is two this month already. GO AWAY IVAN!!! We don't need a third in this state.

Does anyone know how the area of Port St. Lucie made out- I can't reach my cousin. Thabks ahead.

glad to hear most everybody is safe and has checked in.

Hoping Ivan takes a turn and misses our Florida Listmates!

Stay safe!

Thank goodness they escaped the brunt of the storm ~ my parents live there & they have no power ( they went home on the 6th & are still without)
I do know is that my Mom is having trouble with her cell phone coverage there. I had tried to reach her several times & the calls would not go through.
I hope you are able to reach your cousin soon.

Well, after almost 9 days with out power, I do know this.......................they stunk while doing it!!!
Cold showers are NO fun!!!
( I'm ok with the "eating out every night" tho.......:))

lol sleep? What's sleep? Seahag 9 days already? I'm on day 6 of no power or water. Surely is not fun. Those people back in the day should have left some manuals or something!! :teeth:

Ivan has one model going up your side and another into the Gulf and 3 going up the middle of the peninsula with winds at 160 MPH. We may never have power again. Are you able to sleep at work, Haggy?
