We were there begining 8/28 and the weather was beautiful, a light breeze to keep things cool AT FIRST. Then the weather started getting so humid. We watched the Weather Channel so to know what to do. By Tues. We decided that we better just call it a trip and head home. We live in CHas. SC and if Orlando was missed, it may hit Chas. Either way we needed to get out of the evacuation traffic and/or secure our home.
That was the most depressing day for me to have to cut my Disney trip so short. The CM at the outpost said that they would be evacuating people on Friday to other resorts.
A note about Charly.
The campground and peacocks had very visible signs of Charly's visit. Trees down, the bushes and grass were just blown apart. The poor peacocks had no tail feathers left. Some had long white empty pieces of the shaft of the feather. However, they were much more plentiful in the campsites. We usually had atleast 12 on our site. I guess because the brush was not as full.
Thanks for all of your concerns. It feels good to have you friends thinking about us.
