I'm on the west coast of Florida in Ft. Myers, so I'll miss most of Frances' fury, but we are feeling the effects of the hurricane too.

I went to Target on Wednesday and D batteries were gone. In fact, I got the last package of D batteries. There were a few packages of C batteries left. Water was stacked high.

Gas is very scarce. Fuel companies aren't bringing in shipments due to the hurricane, so many gas stations are out of gas. Those stations left with gas have long lines. News reports have mentioned that many have waited in line 1-2 hours, just for gas. I found a Shell station that always has the highest gas prices on my way home from work that did have gas. All they had left, though, was regular.

All hotel rooms in the area are pretty much full. Shelters are starting to fill up too.

A few people at work and in my neighborhood are boarding up their houses as if they are in Ground Zero. Charley has barreled through the neighborhood a few weeks ago and people aren't taking chances this time.

I don't think Ft. Myers is going to be greatly affected by the hurricane. We're just barely outside the predicted affected zone. I think we'll just get a lot of wind and rain.

One thing I keep on thinking about is what I'll do to help those on the East Coast after the hurricane hits. I know when Charley hit us, my company's office in Miami and other company offices around the country donated a large amount of items. Reps from the Miami office even personally delivered the items to us. I know if the office is collecting for Frances, I will be donating lots of stuff.

This weekend will not be a good time to wander around town. No matter -- I have schoolwork to do, video to edit, and "Hellboy" to watch on DVD. As long as the power holds, I'm all set.

You have a good heart, Barry. Hope all goes well the next couple days, for you, and all Floridians.

Just stay safe Barry!

We don't want anything to happen to you. I'm glad to hear that you want to help out. You have such a great heart!

But remember, the proper ORDER is:

1. Watch Hellboy (BTW, fun flick if you have not seen it...........)
2. Edit video
3. Do schoolwork.................
