Hurricane Dennis

Dennis is now VERY close to a category 4....not looking good at all!!

Can we have a hurricane party at Motherfletcher's house? I see he lives in Naples. Bring the beer and party hats!

I've been following this very closely, and it looks like Orlando should only get some gusty rain, but nothing serious. Over on the Tampa side, it might be a little worse - 50 mph wouldn't surprise me, but neither would nothing. According to the National Weather Service, we have a very low chance of 58-74 mph in Tampa and almost no chance of hurricane force winds. Orlando isn't even in the probabilities for hurricane force winds. Its about 60 miles from Tampa to Orlando (and like 80 miles from the coast), so its way out as far as a hurricane is concerned. After last year, this is a walk in the park. At worse, it will be stormy for the weekend and then be ready to go on Monday. And for the brave, the parks probably won't close unless it drastically moves east and hits the west coast of Florida instead of the Panhandle.

My buddy in the Hurricane business said there is a 24% chance of a direct hit on my house (He always uses MY house as the reference point). There was a 46% chance when Charlie came through so we loaded up and ran to Orlando to be able to take the direct hit! :umbrella:
I'm too close to the beach for a hurricane party. :drinking1
The road in front of my house is only 6.5' above sea level. :boat:
It has often been said that we are lucky here because God has a condo in Naples!

It might be a great weekend for shelling. We went to Lover's Key after last year's hurricanes and there were shells that I'd never seen before. Alot were still alive.

......and Dennis should also clean up the stinky red tide. I don't know about your area Motherfletcher but it's been bad here and not a pretty sight seeing dead fish wash up ashore and other marine life. The smell........well you can imagine!!

Yeah, I've smelled that smell. :sad2: There was a taste of it last year at US when they killed all the fish in the lagoon for the stunt show. :fish:

We just got an email to cover our computers and go home! WooHoo! Now if Dennis will menace? :confused3 My roof is about one hurricane away from what happened to Dark Marauder!

Hey - we have that 2 bedroom Villa Suite that we were upgraded to - So we can have the Hurricane Party at the PBH!

See you all on Sunday. I am still thinking the best ride of the week will be the flight in from Denver!

Stay safe MotherFletcher and all of you others out there.

What?............No kidding! I think Universal should have a new attraction like a tidal wave with some red tide and put it next to Jaws.

I see you've got squally weather coming your way now...........then we're next. Stay safe and have a good weekend.

Party in the 2 villa suite this weekend. We can all come over and jump up and down on the bed!

Sounds good to me - the adult refreshments are already packed!

Yesterday while we were covering our computers and securing the office I had no less than 6 people come to my office to ask if we were going to Disney (I don't even correct them anymore). Since Charlie and our decision to run into the hurricane everyone judges where they will be safe by going the opposite direction that we go! Based on that, there should be a bunch of my co-workers in Orlando this weekend.
I'd love to be hanging with goofy! in the 2br suite!(take pictures). Upgrades should be pretty easy today. Ya'll have fun and don't forget the ponchos because it might rain. :umbrella:

It's raining right now! I hope it doesn't do this all day!

We are driving down from Kentucky tomorrrow, should we postpone or do you think it will be alright. We decided to go through Georgia instead of the usual Alabama. Any help would be great. Thanks guys!

Welcome to the Dis! I'd drive down. I think its all but over here and should be over in Orlando by tomorrow. You will likely hit some rain but it won't be life threatening. Have fun!

Haven't been on these boards in a while but Dennis is forecasted to hit where Ivan hit- right near our beach condo that has not even begun to be fixed due to insurance and contractors etc. anyway, I had rented a place this Wednesday so it will be cancelled most likely- What a bummer-anyway Hope all fairs well in orlando and it doesn't mess up any of ya'll's vacation. 65 North is one way out of Mobile- guess we've got this hurrican thing figured out now- !!!
