We are under a severe t-storm and tornado watch so we are hunkering down in the basement. They are saying our area will get some pretty bad stuff so I expect to lose power. Nancy has my cell # if we do.

I'll talk to ya'll soon. :thumbsup2

Stay out of trouble while I'm gone.:rotfl2:

Ok, If I don't see you back on here... I'm calling in the AM when I leave to go to the bank.. You can do the bank run with me...

Stay safe!!!!!

We have the same warnings, but so far it looks fairly decent outside, so my friend and I are going to AC Moore and Appleby's for Dinner! If you don't hear anything from me tomorrow, send out the troops!!!!! :rotfl2:

maria,
they are saying its a tornado warning around our parts. please be carefull.
i wonder if buffy was getting that also. we are only one state away.
be safe all. i think i'm gonna shut my computer down, just in case.

You know, I see Hunker down and I think a hurricane is coming.

Stay safe!

I live 20 miles from Buffy so I imagine her weather was similiar to what we had. When the rain came, it came hard. I was driving home fortunately only a mile from the house. I could barely see the road, and branches were flying down.

I just talked to Buffy, she and the kids are okay. Still have power. We are expecting another cell, but hopefully all will be well.

Yuck, the weather here was terrible!! I had to go from work to the Dr. today and my normally 45 minute drive took me an hour and a quarter. The rain is torrential, and didn't lighten up for the whole drive.

I admit, the tornado watch is a little scary. This is why I don't live in the midwest anymore!

Well, we had that weather earlier today. Lots of wind and rain. Now it is a light drizzle. Finally, my plants are happy. We didn't lose power, but my parents who live about 10 miles away, did.

DS and I were watching the radar loop for you NEasters.. YUCKO!
It missed us last night.. we were expecting the worst but got our soccer games in even with the strong winds...(nothing major.. just gusts every now and again)... Anyway, glad Lisa talked to Buffy and everyone is fine!!!

We have tornados a lot in my neck of the woods... so I heed the warnings when they come out.. Hate when I'm in those storms with my kids... especially in the driving rains where you can't see the road in front of you.. Thank goodness DH won a weather radio earlier this year.. We run that contraption non-stop when we hear the warnings on the TV and especially at night because when that sirens sounds we know to be listening closely!!!

So far so good here now. We are getting some moderate rain but the winds have died down. The sky was a wee bit green when I last posted which is a sign of a possible tornado. There was some sheering on the radar north of me and Lisa, near my MIL. I will call her later to see how things are there. She is in an assisted living facility and they have a protocol to follow so I know she's fine.
Mom ran a tornado drill at school today too. Things went smoothly 1- 5 year old got upset but she calmed him right down. She also stayed at school til the rain cleared.
All in all it was a grand day  See why I moved out of GA, at least with a hurricane you have time to plan. LOL

Be safe. Will be praying for you while I'm scrapping.

We had that earlier too. (I'm about 20 minutes from Mickster.) It was just a bit cloudy when I ran out to get the mail at 2:30 and within 15 minutes it got so dark I couldn't see without a light...and I was sitting in front of a window! :eeek: The sky was that funky color & DD and I turned on the weather channel for the local radar as we were shutting down the computers.

Just as the radar showed a big blob of orange & red hitting us, we heard the wind (they were right...it was 60 MPH!!) and the power went out. The rain came down in sheets! We were without power then until about 5:30 - it came back on while we were out at the doctor.

That was one wicked storm!! I'm glad everyone is safe!!

OK, Stac and I are back from Dartmouth, and we are safe and sound! It started raining on the way back and I realized that I needed to get new wipies for my windshield! I almost went up on a curb! :lmao: Poor Stac! She must think I am wacked! She didn't see it till the last minute either!!! Wow, I have quick reflexes and saved us both from going up on the curb!!!! YEAH!!! :yay: The rain wasn't even that bad either!!!! Oh well... good thing I have a big pick up truck!!!!

Buffy,
Glad all you guys are OK!!!! Bet your glad you don't have to spend the night in the basement!!! I remember once when I was a kid during a tornado in Nebraska, we were at the movies and we had to go in the basement of the movie theater and there was this HUGE black spider above my head and I just couldn't take my eyes off of it the whole time I was down there!!! I was more freaked about that spider than the tornado!!!! I was so scared, I couldn't move!!!! :rotfl2:

Glad everyone is safe! We have a weather radio too. It has come in handy the last couple of weeks when we have had nasty weather.
