Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

I know ... she tries too hard sometimes. I would have been happier if she'd just kept her money and done something for herself.

Thank god for small miracles ... if she'd picked out a Knight Rider music box I think I'd be in the ER right now with a laughter induced spleen injury. :rotfl2:

Well that's a mighty kind comparison, thanks! I wish I looked half as good as she does. ::yes::

Absolutely. But I've never been able to not share the funny ... and this is just hysterical to me.

I agree about MLP--but without the side job she has on her show, I hope!:rotfl:

Beautiful wedding pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Deb

Hey, there's more stuff on here! I should've been checking by. You know I"m loving the blog reviews, but I wanted to say it was great finding a wedding review as a bonus today! Grimace looks almost pleasant in that one picture; does she know how much younger she looks when she's not frowning? You and Jay look great, as always, as did the bride and groom. I have to say, though--those seats in church look mighty uncomfortable! Makes me feel better about the aluminum folding chairs we have in the contemporary service every week! Only the sanctuary gets cushioned seating!

You guys are going to give me a swelled head ... she's waaaaaaaay more attractive than me. Maybe we have similar personalities? Although I haven't really seen her in anything since Fried Green Tomatoes which is one of my all-time favorite movies. :thumbsup2

Thanks Deb!

Hi Jamie! I love the picture that you're using for your avatar - it's too cute!

Thanks so much for the kind words ... glad you're enjoying the blog ... hope to get another update posted soon; just don't ask me to define soon!

I've told my mom that she looks so much more youthful and pleasant when she's just relaxes but something about the camera makes her freeze 'n' frown. :lmao: :confused3

I think it's a requirement that pews in churches have to be uncomfortable ... ;)

I thought you were going to say she got you....

A Toblerone! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Whew.

Maybe the music box play German music???? :confused3

My parents were here last week
and spent the better part of Thursday '
defrosting my freezer to an acceptable level. Sigh.

Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

Poor Grimmie, she means well. Besides, I hear that Italian music boxes are all the rage in Germany now. Most of them play 'Jump In My Car' by David Hasselhoff... so consider yourself lucky. ;) :rotfl:

Ohhhhhhhhhhh... and I was THIS close to getting you the "Aye Carumba Baywatch Commemorative Music Box".... :lmao: (in XS...) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can't remember if I told anyone around here or not, but my oldest nephew (my deceased brother's oldest son) got married last Saturday. We finally managed to upload the pictures so I thought I'd share a few of them with my DIS-buddies. Thanks for letting me share!!

Pretty cupcakes!

Then they brought us two t-shirts from the Heidelberg HRC ... the only problems is that they are children's XLs! There's no way on god's green earth that either one of us could fit into them. :rotfl2:

Now there's a weight loss incentive for you....I will fit into that Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen sized HRC t-shirt if it kills me!

I have to share something funny with you guys ...

Remember how I mentioned that my parents went to Germany for 10 days? They got back last week a couple of days before my nephew's wedding.

Today they stopped by our house to give us some gifts they picked up for us while they were traveling, which was very thoughtful of them.

They picked out four really cool Hard Rock Cafe pins for Jason's collection - two from Munich and two from Heidelberg.

Then they brought us two t-shirts from the Heidelberg HRC ... the only problems is that they are children's XLs! There's no way on god's green earth that either one of us could fit into them. :rotfl2:

But wait... I've saved the best for last!

My mom gave me a very pretty lacquer music box ... after I pulled it out of the wrapping I flipped it to see what song it plays and there's a huge sticker on the bottom that reads: MADE IN ITALY!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

She went all the way to Germany to bring back an Italian made music box ...

They mean well, but I'm starting to think I need to take away their buying privileges along with their drivers licenses. :rotfl: :rotfl:

It could have been worse: MADE IN CHINA! :rotfl2:
Except for their lack of attention to detail on tshirt sizes, I'd say they did pretty well getting gifts! My brother gave me a music box after his trip to Europe, but I didn't check where it was made. It's really beautiful, though.

I thought you were going to say she got you....

A Toblerone! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Whew.

Been there. Bought that. For Miss Bewby Flashin' Bendy. :duck:

What a beautiful wedding! I've missed seeing pics of you and Jay but I'm catching up on your blog - good reads :goodvibes

Hey friends! I updated the blog tonight with a review of breakfast at the House of Blues. Come visit us when you have time.

And please excuse the out-of-orderness of the Vegas reviews ... I've hit a roadblock with the Robuchon review so rather than keep banging my head on the keyboard I decided to skip ahead to the next day so that I could feel like I managed to accomplish something! :rotfl2:

Thanks for taking the time to check it out! :goodvibes

Thanks for taking time to do the post!
We LOVE it! :cutie:

A Toblerone! :rotfl2:

Whew.

Maybe the music box play German music???? :confused3

No, thank goodness ... no more Toblerone from parental units who wander across the sea.

As for the music box ... it plays Laura's theme from Dr. Zhivago. So, it's an Italian music box purchased in Germany that plays music from an American movie based on a Russian book.

Whew! :rotfl2:

My parents were here last week
and spent the better part of Thursday defrosting my freezer to an acceptable level. Sigh.

Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

Thanks for taking the time to read / look / comment / laugh. Why would your parents come visit you and then defrost your freezer? :confused3

I thought that too! :lmao: Grimmie was at least thinking of you!

Thanks for sharing your nephews wedding photos. You all look loverly!

I guess that was the perfect set-up, wasn't it? And yes, Grimmie was being very thoughtful so I don't want you guys to think I'm 100% terrible (maybe 95%). Glad you liked the wedding photos!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh... and I was THIS close to getting you the "Aye Carumba Baywatch Commemorative Music Box".... :lmao: (in XS...) :rotfl2:

All I can say is thank you for changing your mind! :lmao:

Now there's a weight loss incentive for you....I will fit into that Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen sized HRC t-shirt if it kills me!

Thanks Honeybee! And as much as I'd like to shave some meat from my bones, I have no desire to look like either one of those two ... ever! :scared1:

Actually it would have been really funny if that sticker on the bottom read Made in the USA! And yes, I think they did a nice job buying gifts that they didn't have to buy at all. I was really happy that the best prezzie went to Jay ... at least he knows that he warrants more with my parents than a bar of nutty chocolate. :thumbsup2

Been there. Bought that. For Miss Bewby Flashin' Bendy. :duck:

And your gift was a hoot ... thanks again!

What a beautiful wedding! I've missed seeing pics of you and Jay but I'm catching up on your blog - good reads :goodvibes

Thanks Heidi! Glad to see you around again and thanks for the kind words on the blog. :goodvibes

Thanks for taking time to do the post!
We LOVE it! :cutie:

Thank you very much for reading! :goodvibes

So I just stumbled on your dining report and am starting to work my way through it....lovely so far! I am definitely a fan of anyone who references Spongebob - the Plankton-As-Pear pictures are particularly hilarious. Off to read more!:surfweb:

Well thank you very much - I hope you enjoy all of it. :goodvibes

We had a lot of fun with the Plankton-Pear pictures ... and did we ever get some strange looks. :rotfl2:

Why indeed! It's a level of obsessive compulsive nagging, I mean parenting, that I have vowed to my children I will never do, heaven help me.

They think they're being "helpful." Sigh.

AT LEAST Mom was great at WDW! 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of another, eh?

What a beautiful wedding. The bride looked beautiful...love that dress!

Ok so when is the next trip and set of recaps going to begin:rotfl2:

Leave it to oybolshoi to sum it all up so succinctly and with such wisdom and wit.:worship:

I have to tell you, I went over to read your V&A CT review b/c DH and I did that for our 10th anniversary (still haven't eaten in the dinning room) weeeeelllllll....... I found your sangria recipe and we're drinking it right now! YUM! I have a great white sangria that I make but didn't have a red sangria that I really enjoyed, Thank you! DH is especially enjoying it as he slaves away over a hot grill.

Well, at least their hearts are in the right place. :goodvibes And you didn't have a Grimace with you at WDW! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the kind words on the wedding - it was lovely and so was the bride. :goodvibes

The next trip to WDW is 10/8 - 10/17 ... reviews to start sometime after that, thanks for asking. You can always feel free to check out our blog which has reviews from local restaurants as well as several from our April trip to Vegas. There are review posts in every month from February 2008 all the way through last night! :thumbsup2

Hi Lynn! That is the best Sangria recipe we've ever tried - it's great and I'm glad you both liked it! And thanks for checking out the reviews from last year ... ah, memories! :goodvibes
