Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

I know how magical it feels, we won Fastpasses on our first day of our vacation at EPCOT last year!! But how special - on your birthday!

Yeah for the birthday girl pixiedust: :cake: and company. Too cool.

It was very cool - even more so since it happened on my birthday! Isn't it funny how such a small thing can make people so happy?

Fastpasses!?! Fastpasses!?! You DID win the lottery.......

Isn't it fun to win something?

I always pick wrong too...always the slowest line at the grocery store.

Entertaining as usual, B!:goodvibes :goodvibes

I can't lie and pretend that I might have preferred a stay in Cindy's Castle that night, but fastpasses were a pretty awesome giftie. And since I'm not one of those people who wins stuff, it was doubly exciting.

Come on Brenda - FastPass - - Wooee - - - that has to be better than food - - - well maybe not cheese or chocolate - - but better than vegetables for sure!!!

Good going girl!!

Thanks! It was so unexpected and we were just like two big kids ... well, more so than usual. And you're right - in a way it is better than food because we have a tangible keepsake from that moment. :goodvibes

Oh Brenda, I'm so happy to hear you won DP for the day. It couldn't have happened to a better DINK.

You were kidding about riding IASW, right? Jay really is a dream husband if he goes on that with you!

Looking forward to more.

Deb

Hi Deb! Actually Jay will ride IASW, but we don't do it on every trip ... small doses, ya know. And we end up singing It's a Duff World when we do ride it and laughing hysterically which often angers parental units in the boats around us. That irreverence thing gets us in a lot of trouble. ;)

What a wonderful birthday surprise, Brenda!! Gotta love those Dream Fastpasses. We won some last February in the MK after exiting Big Thunder . . . on our last day . . . with less than two hours until we had to leave for the airport!:scared1: We did manage to ride Peter Pantsless:rotfl2: (I love it!) and Space Mountain, though, and they're very cool keepsakes!

On our October trip we didn't see the Dream Team, but we did get free popcorn in Epcot!popcorn::

Looking forward to hearing about that Bistro birthday meal. Sounds yummy!:goodvibes

Lori!! I was starting to worry about you - are they overworking you again?

Before the trip I remember telling Jay that I didn't care what we might win and it didn't have to be a big deal, but I just wanted to win something on this trip since it would be our last for the next few years. So when it happened, on my birthday, I was just giddy. And that was the only time on the entire trip that we won anything, which was fine by us (share the wealth), even though we did see the Dream Team in the other parks on other days.

And I love having them for our scrapbook - we didn't use any of the tabs at all since it wasn't very crowded that morning so they're completely intact and they've got the date on them too! :yay:

Thanks for reading!! :goodvibes

Hi Kathy! It really is a special feeling, isn't it? And it was a real conversation starter, too, because guests would approach us asking what they were and how we got them.

Very fun!

And how cool to win them on your first day - what an awesome start to a trip for you!

BTW - are you planning on a dining review once you get back from your upcoming trip? I'd love to read it...hint hint. :goodvibes

I know how magical it feels, we won Fastpasses on our first day of our vacation at EPCOT last year!! But how special - on your birthday!

I haven't visited you in a while but these last two installments were worth the wait.

I've never eaten at Jiko, but i LOVE cheese plates and that one sounds really yummy!

CP sounds so funny -- our family is all about potty humor - I threaten my DD all the time if she's bad instead of grounding her or taking away the phone etc, I will wait for her friends to call tell them she can't come to the phone because she is having explosive diarrhea!

You HAVE to PM the Yankee Doodle lyrics -- my family would love it!

J

Hi Janis, thanks for stopping by and thanks for reading! The cheese plate at Jiko was one of the best I've had at WDW - give it a try the next time you visit. As for potty humor ... it's pretty much a staple at our house - how it could it not be when I'm walking around with inflammatory bowel disease? :lmao:

And you would really tell your DD's friends that she has explosive diarrhea? Oh, you are just eeeee-vil! :lmao:

:goodvibes Hi Brenda

Karen! Thanks for coming over to check out our food report - glad you liked it.

I'm glad you liked the Crystal Palace. It is one of my most favorite places to eat at Disney World. If you decide to go crazy sometime and have a buffet for dinner, the dinner at the Palace is outstanding! Certainly not "Fine Dining" but if you want to stuff yourself silly, that is the place!:goodvibes We did dinner there last month, and I was so full I couldn't even eat dessert!:scared1: I think I am scarred for life!

I had read a lot of good things about CP here on the DIS, and most of them centered around breakfast. That's usually the only meal we'll do for a buffet, so it seemed like a good choice. And I'm glad we tried it - it was a lot of fun and a good start to the day.

I can't take you people anywhere. :sad2:

And as to your so-called reviews ... your sniveling creation is worth less than a protozoan's waste.

Ahhhhhhh, that felt good.

Ouch! That was rather harsh, don't you think?

:lmao: Another great installment!! I now have my DD reading this with me and she and I found your toilet humor just crap-tab-u-lous! (Sorry, I couldn't help myself)

We all engage in "Pooh" humor while eating at CP. My DD's are 8 and 10 and can't seem to help themselves while we are there--although, my DH and I can't help ourselves either :rolleyes1

Keep the humor (potty or not) coming!! Love your reports!

Hi there - glad you enjoyed our juvenile visit to CP. And craptabulous - that's great! I was trying to find a way to use the word craptacular, but I just couldn't seem to work it in. Ah well ... another time. I'm heartened to find that so many others can't resist the lure of Pooh humor while dining at CP - somehow it makes me feel like Jay and I aren't so awful after all. ;)

Thanks again for reading!

Were waiting...popcorn::

Whatcha waiting for Mr. Mysterious? We don't eat popcorn in this house - ever!

Get on with it, sistah!:surfweb:

I did ... sort of. Hopefully I can post something a little more substantial this evening.

Brenda, we are buffet folks cause my husband eats so much that is the only way I can get him filled up for less than a mortgage payment. He eats enough to make up for the fact that I do not eat nearly as much. I am a strict no carb diet usually so it works for me to be able to pick and choose what I put on my plate. When I have a hungry day I grab a big chunk of cheese and thinly slice off pieces and enjoy. As long as I do not mix protein with any carbs it works for me. While dh eats his way through the entire roomful of food I take pictures for the families who are visiting with the characters. I was rewarded with some special pins for doing such 'arduous' work this last trip.

I have pictures of Casey's ducks if you want any for your collection. I even made a movie for my animal loving grandson.

With 4 grandsons I am very knowledgeable of 'butt' jokes. It is the key to a young man's heart and sense of humor. Older fellows too! :rotfl:

SG/Linda

Hi there Slightly Goofy! How ya doin? How kind of you to take pictures for other families - that's so sweet. And I've found that as long as the man in your life is satisified with the meal the vacation runs more smoothly, so if your DH is happy at the buffet, let him at it! And you are spot on with the butt jokes - they never outgrow them (but then again I guess I didn't either!).

Thanks for reading!

I loved lurking around your last food review so I am looking forward to the rest of this one...you write wonderfully!

Thanks so much for posting here and thanks for the compliment - I'm glad you're enjoying the reviews.

Great update Brenda! Your pics with Pooh are just adorable. I haven't been to The Crystal Palace since about 1985 when it was more like a cafeteria style breakfast place with no characters but you used to have real birds flying around overhead while you were eating. It really was such a lovely place to eat.

Good morning WDW Fan! Thanks for the info on CP back in the day. It really does look like a conservatory in there, so the birds seem like a cool idea but I'd be worried about one or several of them plooping on the food and the guests. :rotfl2:

I am thoroughly enjoying your dining reviews. Thank you very much!

Thanks for reading along!

Brenda,

Love your reviews and your running commentary. THANKS to sharing about Kajmir - I went out and got myself some and it is most yummy!!

Hello there and thanks for reading! Glad you liked the Kajmir - it's good stuff, isn't it? I love the color.

OMG, it DOES look like he's about to slap you one!! :lmao: :lmao:

yay an opportunity to use my fave smilie!!

Ok, those eggs (if that's what you want to call them) look like something that came from the bottom of the ocean!!!

Hi Cass! I think the reason I look a bit apprehensive in that picture is that I completely expected Eeyore to wallop me upside the head. I love that icon, by the way; it's good to see it again. :rotfl2:

I thought the eggs were actually pretty good ... douse 'em in salt and wash 'em down with some baaaaaad coffee. A great start to the day! ;)

But, but - Brenda is soooooooo worth waiting for and besides if she finishes this to quickly what will we have to look forward to?????

Oh stop ... you're going to inflate my head to the point that I'll have to leave it outside because it won't fit in the house. But thanks for the compliment. :goodvibes

How did I not know this was here?!??!?!?:confused3

I was at WDW the week after you. I thought of you whilst skipping off the monorail with a friend, singing the F.U.N. song.

Loving the report so far. I still have some pages to catch up on.

Briarmom! We just missed each other? I seem to be doing that with a lot of DISers this year. And you were singing the FUN song??? Can you believe we didn't sing that once? What's wrong with us???

Thanks so much for reading - it's good to see you!

Ditto duly noted - please read on, Mother Goose.

Ohhh-I can't wait! After the week I've had I need a few good laughs Looking forward to an update!

I hope you're recovering from your week - I completely understand how that goes. Hopefully I can provide a few laughs ... but no pressure. :scared:

Another great review! We are debating a final bfast at CP, still weighing the pros/cons of getting everybody up that last day! Looks like a fun place though!

Thanks for reading! CP breakfast really is charming - if you have the time I say you should give it a try!

Hope the continued silence does not mean a bad day at work. here is a  anyhow. Now get cracking girl!!! Your public awaits!!!

Well, maybe some others are waiting. I have been up sense 530am, so it is off to bed for me. Hopefully I will awake to a new post!

It wasn't a great week at work all things considered, but it's over now! Thanks for the hug and for the whip crackin' as Jay likes to call it. You have a small update for now ... followed by a lengthier one later this weekend.

Thanks again for reading!

more!

especially about the lovely people on that dis meet ;) - I bet they were just fab (if not a little strange) people:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yay, for you getting fastpasses on your birthday! Whaddaya mean no more trips for "a few years"? That's an awful long time--you'll have to do trip reports about your trips to Target or somewhere!:rotfl2: I think everyone we knew that was at Disney at the same time we were, won dream fastpasses but us... at least three families there in DD's grade, same days we were in the same parks....I need a new touring plan:idea: .

I am glad to hear that someone enjoyed those hellishly hot days in October and that they made you less achy! They just made me ugly! (mentally and physically, thank you.)

Lori!! I was starting to worry about you - are they overworking you again?

Yes, they are!!;) I'm trying to keep up with the reports, though, even if I don't get a chance to post much. Keep up the great work, even if it does make me very, very hungry!!:goodvibes

Brenda, everyone takes pics for everyone at DW. People take them for me too. If I get that much acclaim for those kinds of things I cannot wait to see what happens if I ever actually do something worthwhile!

That is so true about men and food. It truly is the way to their hearts. Mine was shocked when we were first married and I made him some pork chops. He also about fell over when he found out I could read and write. I do not think he was nearly as happy about that fact though as women who can do those things often cause trouble. :lmao: I am not quite sure why he married me but I have a sneaking suspicion. :rolleyes1

Winning Fastpasses AND getting them on your birthday? How wonderful. Were you wearing a birthday button? It would be my luck to win that as I am a decrepit old hag and they push me through the FP lane already to keep from having to pick me up from the ground. Bet that thrilled your hubby the most. They hate lines more than anyone else. :wizard:

When I get my new camera the very first pics I take are going to be for you so that I can prove that I,do indeed, speak boy. Warning though, all boys who see these pics are likely to demand an immediate trip to MY house. pirate:

Bought myself a new desk chair today and it is wonderful. It has a high back so it supports my poor faltering lungs quite nicely and since it swivels and rocks I can keep the circulation going in my achy legs. I got a good deal on it and when I was trying to get in the house the boy across the street saw me and came over and helped me get it up the steps and into the house. I took him and his friends some cold drinks. I am a grateful soul. :flower3:

Fountains to drain and cover tomorrow. Will the fun never end?? And people wonder why I like winter time??

SG/Linda

What a fabulous birthday present.:thumbsup2 It's better than a Toblerone!!!:lmao:
They chose "the best"! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (pretty crafty of me to sneak that one in huh?)

cntkg1, Fast Passes are wonderful but I am hard pressed to think that most anything is better than chocolate. When they talked about nectar of the gods chocolate is what they were talking about IMO. :thumbsup2

Slightly Goofy

Right you are Slightly Goofy - - - Fast passes absolutely out rank vegetables but never, ever chocolate!!!

cntkg1, Fast Passes are wonderful but I am hard pressed to think that most anything is better than chocolate. When they talked about nectar of the gods chocolate is what they were talking about IMO. :thumbsup2

Slightly Goofy

SG, Can we agree that Fast Passes and Chocolate are at least tied for first place? :thumbsup2 :lmao: :thumbsup2 :lmao: :thumbsup2

cntkg1, nope, can't agree to that. Since I have unlimited FP's due to medical circumstances they are not that interesting to me, however, being on a strict diet and not eating anything with carbs in them makes chocolate even more enticing.:rotfl:

You are, however, allowed to think whatever YOU wish. :wizard:

Looking forward to some flourless chocolate cake in a couple of weeks!!

Slightly Goofy

Oh, what a nice surprise for your birthday!:bday:
We did not see the dream team at all during our trip in August. (and believe me, I was looking):magnify:

Loved the latest installment!! :thumbsup2

How awesome to get Dream FastPasses on your birthday   Did you plan that? ;)

Can't wait for the next one popcorn::

Brenda, That is totally awesome dude!!! ;) Yeah, I know you're a chick, & Crush is in Epcot, but I'm just not as ingenious as you are. No matter what the little green guy says your reviews rock!

Getting fast passes on your birthday is totally awesome though! Glad you were able to partake in a little Pixie dust! pixiedust:

We've been several times during the Million Dreams thing and I've never ever even caught a glimpse of those little people in thier blue dream coats! I was beginning to think it was a DIS-Myth! ;)

What a great Birthday gift Brenda - and you didn't even have to show the Dream Team your chest area to get them ;)
