Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

My ode to odor tends to vary each time, mainly because I can't remember the words between performances. And thinking about the song now, I can't remember the last set of lyrics I used. I'm sure they'll come back to me at some point when I'm not thinking about them.

:rotfl2: Love the Pooh humor! Reminds me of my last time in MK when I was giving everyone the game plan: First we hit Dumbo, then Winnie the Pooh, then Peter Pan. My Dneph, never missing a beat said "Got it! Dumbo pood on Peter Pan!"
:rotfl2:

Yeah, I think I'll scratch CP for breakie and head over to CM instead. Thanks! :goodvibes

First up: a painfully bright Tigger.

It is physically impossible to take a bad picture of my husband...
104.jpg

I also had my picture taken with flourescent Tigger but it didn't turn out very well so it seemed best not to include it here.

HOLY FLORURESCENT TIGGER, BATMAN!!! :scared: :scared1: They should warn people about that! Don't look directly at Tigger, you may go blind. I don't remember Tigger being that bright when we went in January. WOW. When we went in January it was Piglet who was flourescent and painfully bright.

The breakfast looks yummy. We ate dinner there in January and it was really good. Will definitely have to try breakfast the next time we go. When we went it was my sister's birthday and they decorated our table like yours and she also got a card. She didn't get a cupcake because we had ordered a custom cake to be delivered, but that cupcake sure does look yummy.

Looking forward to reading more. :)

My DD6 was upset the other night about mom being at a meeting, and making jokes about her Winnie the Pooh sitting on her head and making Pooh Poo-Poo got her to stop crying about missing mommy.

She wouldn't let me sing Stinkle Stinkle Little Toot to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, though. That's a true classic.

I want to hear the song too.:lmao:

Just got caught up in your reviews and I was doing a lot of laughing out loud.:rotfl: We went to CP for the 1st time this summer for dinner and I agree that it is a great place for people with kids. We went for dinner and both my DH and I thought that the food was above average for a character buffet.

Every time I read a review of Jiko, I am practically drooling all over the place. I must get there one of these days. It looks great!

And now, if I may digress for a minute. Your picture of Grimace made me cringe and here is why. When I was a kid, the McDonald's near us had a playground with a Grimace that had feet and a head but the middle was metal bars, kind of like a cage. Kids would climb inside Grimace, hold on to the bars and shake real hard and it would rock back and forth. One time, I lost hold of the iron bars and smashed my head both front and back into the bars, had to get medical attention on the playground, and ended up with a bump the size of an egg on my forehead.:scared1: I've been wary of the big purple guy ever since.

Anyway, I look forward to more.popcorn::

Here we are before the 60-minute odyssey that was our trip to the Animal Kingdom Lodge:

Allow me to offer you some advice ... take a freaking cab to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. All we had to do was take a three-minute stroll to the front entrance of the Beach Club where a squash-colored car was waiting to whisk us away to Disney's version of Africa. But for some boneheaded reason we thought it was a better idea to walk all the way through Epcot and wait at the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus stop for a ride to the African plains of Central Florida.

I am glad I am not the only one who came to this conclusion! After my ridiculously long transportation nightmare getting from BC to AKL for Boma, we learned our lesson the night we went to Jiko and took a cab. Well worth it!

P.S. MMMM, cheese plate! Wow did that look good!

Me and DW always have a rental car for our trips to the world. We occasionally use the Disney bus system but not to often. The freedom and stress free vacation that a car provides is awesome!

I just love the picture of Jay and Tigger :lovestruc

We've yet to eat at CP, maybe someday. Looking forward to ducks and dogs.

Deb

It doesn't help that for some reason when people see our last name for the first time they always transpose the letters and call for what sounds like a very unique and hard-to-find German sausage.
"MENSCHWAGER!!! Party of two: MENSCHWAGER!!!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Pooh is so soft and cuddley
107.jpg

Oh Brenda, me thinks Mr Pooh was trying to take a peeky-peek down your Pooh colored shirt. :confused3

I'm not proud, but by the time the poor bear had moved on Jay and I were doubled over with hysterical juvenile laughter. We moved on from Pooh jokes to those tired old Uranus jokes and then I topped off a grand old morning of laughter with my favorite version of Yankee Doodle, which I first heard when I was six years old. I'm not sure if I can post it here ... it's not really offensive but it is kind of gross. I guarantee that if any of you have children, especially boys, they'd love it. Really intrigued? Send me a PM and we'll have a little conversation.

Now you just know you'll find a pm from me, don't you?:rotfl2:

WAIT A MINUTE!!!! Is Jay wearing a non-Disney shirt???? How did they ever let him through the turnstiles??

Actually, I collect HRC pins and T-shirts, so I admire his taste in Tee's! In fact, DH, the Disney-ehhher (that's up from Disney hater, to Disney tolerater) will probably wear several of those there. Although I have gotten him to think about getting a "Grumpy" or "Goofy" Sweatshirt. That would fit him very, very well!

And I too can't wait to hear about the duck at Casey. Was it served Confit?

Come on back and share when you remember!

Oh my ... :lmao: ...your nephew has a future, oh yes he does! Definitely more variety and more characters at Chef Mickey's, but CP was not bad as character breakfasts go.

It's true - my eyes hurt every time I look at that picture! :lmao: Actually Piglet was pretty bright, too, but not like Tigger.

Standard Disney breakfast buffet, but it was still good. All the food was fresh and hot - it's about the best you can usually expect at a buffet. I loved the card - it was so cute. And yes, the cupcake was yummy!

Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

I want to hear the song too.:lmao:

Ditto!

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the reviews. We rarely try buffets for anything other than breakfast, but it's good to know for future reference that so many people here think that CP has a decent one for dinner.

And yes, you must get to Jiko. It's fabulous!

And now, if I may digress for a minute. Your picture of Grimace made me cringe and here is why. When I was a kid, the McDonald's near us had a playground with a Grimace that had feet and a head but the middle was metal bars, kind of like a cage. Oh dear, and all this time I've been traumatizing you with pictures of Grimace. I'm sorry. If it's any consolation there really shouldn't be any more on this thread (unless Jay finds something funnier than Sumo Grimace, which I'm not sure is humanly possible). Should that happen I will post a Grimace alert at the top of the installment.

Thanks for reading!

P.S. MMMM, cheese plate! Wow did that look good!

I feel like an idiot for not thinking of the cab before the meal. At least I managed to get in a few more miles of walking to justify eating all that cheese. And I have to say it's one of the best cheese plates I've had on property - right up there with Victoria & Albert's.

Me and DW always have a rental car for our trips to the world. We occasionally use the Disney bus system but not to often. The freedom and stress free vacation that a car provides is awesome!

We've never tried a rental car in Florida. We spend so much time driving at home that it's actually something of a luxury to be "stranded" at the resort without a car. Something to reconsider on the next trip.

BTW, thanks for your earlier post and I hope you've recovered from the rather scary ultimatum you received about lurking. ;)

I just love the picture of Jay and Tigger :lovestruc

We've yet to eat at CP, maybe someday. Looking forward to ducks and dogs.

Deb

Hi Deb, thanks for reading! That picture is so cute, isn't it? We had fun at CP and it's a little more relaxed than Chef Mickey's - I'm glad we tried it.

Oh Brenda, me thinks Mr Pooh was trying to take a peeky-peek down your Pooh colored shirt. :confused3

Now you just know know you'll find a pm from me, don't you?:rotfl2:

Nancy, you are shocking! If Jay had suspected something like that from big Pooh the tableware would have gone flying. He once got into a smackdown with Chip... or was it Dale? I can't tell them apart, but the tension at Chef Mickey's that morning was so thick you could have used it as frosting on birthday cupcake. :lmao:

And yes, I knew I could count on you for a Yankee Doodle PM. ;)

You're an HRC collector, too? Awesome! Jay and I are huge HRC fans - his entire vacation wardrobe is made up almost exclusively of HRC shirts. The only Disney shirts that Jay owns are either from MNSSHP or from the F&W Fest.

As for Casey's ... it wasn't about eating the duck but rather who the duck tried to eat. :rotfl2:

As usual, I'm living vicariously through you and Jay. I love the way Tigger is reflected in Jay's shirt...and his face. :smooth:

We're going to try Crystal Palace next summer. We've never been and the kids still get into the characters and autographs (I don't think they'll ever outgrow that.), so it's on our list. It's looks like a very charming restaurant.

Great report as always, my friend.:goodvibes

Well, it's taken me three days, but I've completed this thread and Argle-Bargle (just to figure out who The Grimace was). I did also manage to do all of my other normal daily activities like working, food preparation, child-minding, etc. But my spare time was made much more enjoyable due to your postings, so thank you Brenda. :goodvibes

Now... which one shall I read next?

Hi Paige - thanks for reading!

I think you'll really enjoy Crystal Palace. I liked the pace of the morning - a little more relaxed than Chef Mickeys and it didn't feel like the characters were rushing from table to table, or bypassing dorks like Jay and me because we didn't have kids with us. And it's a lovely setting. I keep trying to remember what it was used for way back when but I'm drawing a blank.

Woot! A new reader! Welcome aboard ... and you read all of that? I feel like I should buy you a drink or something. ;)

Thanks for taking the time to post - glad you've enjoyed our reviews so far! :goodvibes

I haven't visited you in a while but these last two installments were worth the wait.

I've never eaten at Jiko, but i LOVE cheese plates and that one sounds really yummy!

CP sounds so funny -- our family is all about potty humor - I threaten my DD all the time if she's bad instead of grounding her or taking away the phone etc, I will wait for her friends to call tell them she can't come to the phone because she is having explosive diarrhea!

You HAVE to PM the Yankee Doodle lyrics -- my family would love it!

J

:goodvibes Hi Brenda

Tuesday, October 16th - Hurricane Hannah's Blows and A Trough, uh, Table for Two

Send Toblerone!!!
74.jpg

Toblerone!:lmao: :lmao: - I remember now!

Cheesy does it
79.jpg

Cheese! - I could almost lick my monitor

Oak-Grilled Filet Mignon
84.jpg

Oh my! - this is turning out to be my favourite menu!

first cheese and now filet:cloud9:

It's true; we only ordered one dessert
85.jpg

Looks yummy too!

We also ordered a glass of port with dessert - just one - and asked that it be split between the two of us. However, the bartender wasn't paying attention and ended up pouring two full glasses of De Krans Cape Tawny Port. Good beverage karma strikes again because our waiter told us the second glass was on the house! And the port paired exceptionally well with the mousse.

free port - always the best kind:lmao:

I'm glad you liked the Crystal Palace. It is one of my most favorite places to eat at Disney World. If you decide to go crazy sometime and have a buffet for dinner, the dinner at the Palace is outstanding! Certainly not "Fine Dining" but if you want to stuff yourself silly, that is the place!:goodvibes We did dinner there last month, and I was so full I couldn't even eat dessert!:scared1: I think I am scarred for life!

I can't take you people anywhere. :sad2:

And as to your so-called reviews ... your sniveling creation is worth less than a protozoan's waste.

Ahhhhhhh, that felt good.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Another great installment!! I now have my DD reading this with me and she and I found your toilet humor just crap-tab-u-lous! :rotfl2: (Sorry, I couldn't help myself)

We all engage in "Pooh" humor while eating at CP. My DD's are 8 and 10 and can't seem to help themselves while we are there--although, my DH and I can't help ourselves either :rolleyes1

Keep the humor (potty or not) coming!! Love your reports!
