Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

Can't wait to hear about Party of the Senses.

We have more than 40 pics from PFTS ... it's going to require a bit of thought on my part; I usually just sit down and let my fingers do the talking but not this time ... :upsidedow

I am impressed, Brenda! I was so busy eating and drinking that night that the only picture we have was taken by another DIS buddy. It is in my signature now! I have to say, though, that we did manage to eat almost every single item offered that night (the same night you were there) and put a hurtin' on the beverage selection too! I am looking forward to reading your report on this gastronomic event!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: We're right there with CampbellScott.:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

But at least they eat together at the big coffee table thingy. Chuck uses a tv tray for his dinner cereal bowl and I balance my Lean Cuisine dinner on the edge of the recliner. Talk about class! :rotfl2:

Waiting for the biggie B. Can't wait!

Hidely-Ho, DISerinos!!! :)

This post is about the blog ... again.

Here's what happened in the span of one week ... more than 100 people contacted us with requests to join. Believe me when I say that we were completely blown away by the response. And we ran out of invited reader space because a private blog only allows "so many" readers.

So we made an executive decision: blog readership is now open to anyone who chooses to access it. However, we are still requiring that in order to leave comments individuals will need to be registered with Google (that simply entails your email address and a password - nothing more).

By now everyone who contacted me here at this DIS should have received a response from me - you've either been emailed a direct invitation or you've been PMd with the direct link.

For anyone else who may be interested but arrived to the party a little late, I'll post the link here and will also link in the first page of this thread.

Jay and I really want to thank you all again for being so enthusiastic and supportive - you help make this tremendously fun for both of us. We look forward to sharing some non-Disney food and trips with you and hope that we don't disappoint you too much.

Without further blah blah blah ... the link:

Thanks again!

Brenda / Benda / Bendy & Jason :goodvibes

I think we should get the Gods of the Blogs to read your sumptuous and often hilarious entries and get them to promote you to full time foodie critic... with the possibility of taking along one or more of your friends from time to time to taste... :thumbsup2

So how much did room service set you back? $45? :rotfl2:

After the night from He**.... Priceless...

Love the mini drive by chapter!!!:moped: (it gives me a reason to use my favorite disembodied head driving a moped emoticon!!)

That was a very nice review of your tentative attempt to eat after what was, most likely, a VERY ick night!! (Jay and I don't eat at the table either...we eat at the large coffee table thingie...but much bigger than a coffee table...in front of the television...cuz we are CLASSY like that! We DO use lovely little lady bug placemats that I got when I was Italy...so it's sorta classy...

*ahem*

I do hope all y'all were better for the rest of the trip! Did you ever come to a consensus as to what caused your sweetie's tummy to be so violent? Food poisoning? Ack I hope not!

Speaking of, just b/c I know how you enjoy my little anecdotes appearing on your food review...I went to the doctor yesterday b/c of my flu that won't go away...I was supposed to get anti virals...which seems odd to me as I've already got the dang flu but I can't go back to work until I swaller em' all...and when I went into the office the admitting nurse looked at her list, looked at me and said:

"Oh ick, you're the flu girl...don't breathe on me!" I then had to sit in isolation until it was my turn...like I was in a timeout or something.

VERY mean lady.

If SHE was a garden gnome she'd be one of the TROLL ones...with the tongue sticking out...and a big bum...

so THERE!!!

I like the rose pictures!!!

:flower3:

Maybe she's the cousin of the Travelocity Gnome that goes over the waterfall...

When Shaun & I did on the honeymoon (Valentine's Day) it set us back a nice $50!

Its vacation...live it up ;)

Looks like a good breakfast.

Live it up - I'm with you on that one! And it was pretty tasty - sometimes room service can be a crapshoot ... uh, maybe that wasn't such a good choice of words. :lmao: Oh well, you know what I meant!

Thanks for reading Campbell - I hope this means you're feeling a little better.

Actually, Jay and I only eat at the table when we have company ... isn't that awful? He eats in his "big chair" and I chow at the coffee table because as much as we don't watch TV we somehow always end up eating in front of it. :lmao:

Sounds like you had to deal with Nurse Empath-Less ... if it had been me I would have sneezed and coughed all around her. I might even have accidentally chewed on her pen before giving it back. I'm just not a very nice person. But seriously ... if she doesn't want to be exposed to people who are ill, she shouldn't work in healthcare. It seems pretty logical to me. :confused3

Can't wait to hear about Party of the Senses.

Hope you enjoy reading about it, it was a blast!

Jay and I tag-teamed the food and we were really focused on getting pictures of as much as we could. And we ate a lot, too. Talk to Shovan some day ... I think she's still amazed at the amount of food I put away that night.

Great picture, by the way! :goodvibes

At least you're eating in the same room at the same time. Some day I'll tell you what my parents do. :lmao:

Hope you enjoy our PFTS whenever I get around to it. ;)

You're too kind but I wouldn't complain if someone wanted to hire me to eat and write on a full time basis (with my DISfriends and my hubby).

What's really funny about this is that I had one of my annual performance review lunches yesterday at work and got the "What do you want to do?" question from my senior manager.

I couldn't tell him the truth: I want to travel with my hubby and eat fabulous food and get paid to write all about it. I think an honest answer would have been what we refer to as a CLM - Career Limiting Move.

Maybe she's the cousin of the Travelocity Gnome that goes over the waterfall...

Now that's funny! :lmao:

Thanks, I needed a little update today.:goodvibes

Now I can't wait until your senseless party.:lmao:

Another great update, Brenda! I hope y'all started feeling better by the time the 'Party' started. :)

Senseless....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Love it!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......

(Guess you had to be there...) :upsidedow

While shopping the other day I saw a duck at the meat counter, asking for "Leg of Brenda"...a friend of yours???? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Beats me ... we weren't even paying attention at that point. By about Day 5 of any trip to WDW Jay and I both fall into the habit of "who cares how much it costs ... we're on vacation - just charge it!" :rotfl2:

Did you remember the story about how DH got sick in Hawaii on our honeymoon. Well that night I ordered room service for me. I ordered a grilled cheese, french fries and a coke. It cost me $8.00. For a grilled cheese.

Thank you so much for posting the blog details - like an idiot I hadn't saved it to my favourites and I had deleted the email and was too scared to admit it!! Loving these posts and the blog!
Wendy

I've been reading all your old reports (I'm late to the party, I guess) and I love them. You are hilarious. I'm so happy you have a blog. Will definitely be stopping by.

Thanks for stopping by Sistah P - I know you are very busy right now.

Senseless... all that eating and drinking ... yeah, I guess in its way it was pretty senseless. But it tasted sooooo good! :thumbsup2

Another great update, Brenda! I hope y'all started feeling better by the time the 'Party' started. :)

Thanks BabyP! We ended up sleeping away most of Saturday and by that evening we were actually feeling pretty good. I didn't have any more problems for the rest of the trip, but Jay was kind of all over the place. From a health standpoint I think he needed to focus! :rotfl2:

It's true!!

While shopping the other day I saw a duck at the meat counter, asking for "Leg of Brenda"...a friend of yours???? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: And was your first reaction to laugh or to say, "Wow! A talking duck!!" :rotfl2:

Was it the best grilled cheese you've ever had in your entire life? ;)

You're a better person than I am, Laura. I would have ordered steak and champagne and a bunch of fattening desserts and racked up a room service bill that would have straightened Jay's naturally curly hair.

Hi Wendy, thanks for reading! Glad you like the blog and I'm glad I could make it little easier for everyone. If you have any trouble don't hesitate to ask - we're a pretty friendly group. :goodvibes

Thank you - I'm happy to hear you're enjoying everything! And better late than never, right? ;) And please check out the blog ... all are welcome. :goodvibes

I just assumed he was related to the AFLAC duck and never blinked an eye (or both eyes, I do NOT resemble Plankton in any way shape or form...ok maybe form:lmao: )

Brenda, do you by any chance listen to the DisUnplugged Podcast?

Kevin Klose does the dining reviews and they are currently running a contest that you would be a shoe-in to win! They are looking for a written dining review (doesn't have to be a Disney restaurant). The review on your blog is awesome! If I remember correctly, the contest winner gets to have dinner with Kevin et al at a Disney restaurant and do a review for the podcast and/or website PLUS a stay at the Swan/Dolphin resort.

Here is a link:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1712783

Hurry though - I think it's ending really soon!

No, I've never listened ... it seems like they usually take place while I'm at work and then once I get home I forget.

I'd love to enter and I did just post on the podcast boards but I don't know where I'm supposed to send the review to.

Thanks for the heads up! I think it would be fun to try and I'd love to win (who wouldn't?). :goodvibes

Just found out - contest is already over. I missed my one shot at fame ... I'm going to go drown my sorrows in cheese.
