I'm just wondering if anyone remember this as what they thought of it...

As an actress, I found the live voices to be absolutely breathtaking. The acting was so sincere, none of the cheesy nonsense. I made my family see it FOUR times in ONE vacation at age 12 or 13. (I'm 17 Now).

What do you think?

I remember watching this show when I was there on my CP. The voices were good I remember, but I thought the show was boring. That said, Hunchback was not one of my favorite Disney movies. I like the classics, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, etc. Anyway, I wished they would have replaced the show with something else instead of just taking it away for good. I know lots of people enjoyed it.

I loved it! Although I'm not a huge fan of the Hunchback movie, I thought the interesting things they did with the live show made it very unusual. There always seemed to be a big crowd, too. I think it was a real mistake to take it out and not replace it with another live show.

My DH and I both enjoyed it and were sad to find it gone when we returned a few years later! :sad2:

My favorite show EVER on property! Thank goodness the last time I saw it I had the presence of mind to video tape it. Just a month after that trip, they announced it was closing and it was gone the next time we went (just like six months later). I have it on a DVD and watch it a couple of times a year. I loved the acting, singing and especially the inventive staging and integration of the puppets and different types of storytelling. Great show!

The saddest thing to me was when they closed it, the theater was basically storage for more than a year. Now it's covered up by the San Francisco hill/skyline. Why couldn't they have just let it run until they had actual plans for that area instead of closing it so quickly? That really turned me off.

I agree with everything you said and I'm insanely jealous that you got to tape it!!! :goodvibes

That was one of the better live shows at WDW. We always enjoyed watching it.

I remember being down on a family vacation and no one else wanted to go to MGM for the day so I went by myself and I enjoyed the show so much, it was really good and I took a ton of photos of it. It was a really great show. :thumbsup2

It was a great show!!!! In my opinion better than Lights Motor Action!

MGM definitely needs more!!!! I wish they would have at least replaced it with something.

I thinkthe Hunchback show was one of the best stage shows Disney has put on. The cast was amazing, their voices were just about perfect.

DH & I were very sad to see it go.

I also miss the show. It had a different feel to it than Beauty and the Beast. I wish they would have replaced it with something else. The entire cast was very talented when we saw it in 2001.

I absolutely LOVED the show!!! I miss it horribly. In fact, just walking by the theatre it use to be in gives me a few seconds worth of melancholy that it's not there anymore.

The funny part is that I had to be dragged into the very first time I was there! I was lucky to see it a few times in additional years.

I loved the staging with the use of the puppets.

It's now just a very fond memory for me. :sad1: Ely

I loved the Hunchback of Notre Dame show. The songs were never good "sing along songs" but they were great in the context of the movie/show (especially God Bless the Outcasts (?) and Frollo's song). I also enjoyed it more than Beauty and the Beast. We took pictures the last time we were there so we can relive the show and my DH can drool over Esmeralda.

my family stumbled on to this show on vacation in 1999 and it was amazing! it was even better than some broadway shows i've seen...it's way better than beauty and the beast at mgm... even tho i didnt like the hunchback movie, and beauty is my fav disney movie

i liked this show so much i stalked it out and made my friends see it in 2001

If anybody here would like a copy, I'd be happy to burn another couple of DVDs. I lost my original backup file, but I think I can pull it from my final rendered copy. I'm headed to WDW in a few days, so it probably wouldn't happen for a couple of weeks, but if anyone's interested, pm me your name and address.

It was AWESOME. I was with someone from New York that told me it approached Broadway quality. The movie, the music, and the show are vastly underrated.:earsboy:

Best show ever at Disney ! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Set, costuming, singing, acting........all above and beyond anything they have ever had. Huge mistake letting it go !

We have a special family attachment, long story, but Quasi took the time to meet my DS after show, and even looked for him during the show to include at end, knowing he was going to meet with him. Major goosebumps !

I LOVED the Hunchback show!!! I REALLY miss it, too!!! BRING IT BACK!!! :thumbsup2

WE also loved this show and have it on tape. When DS was little, he would sing along with the tape and even do the body/hand gestures of the singers. I miss those days...

AMAZING....we loved it saw it in 1996. I still have the confettie that they drop.
