WDW during the summer. It's hotter than heck, the humidity soaks you inside of 10 minutes and I believe we drink the equivalent of a backyard pool in one day. Of course it doesn't stop us from going back.

What can we expect at DL?

Do we really need jackets at night?

Thanks.

You never know what the weather will be out here. Typically the temps are in the 80's, though last year we had a heat wave and they were up in the 90's to 100. The humidity is nothing like Florida, however. It may cool down in the evening, a jacket or sweatshirt should be plenty.

Typically CA does not have the same high humidity that FL does. I usually do WDW for spring break and find it to be sticky, humid even then. CA does not usually have the same, it is more of a dry heat. We were at DL earlier this month and I wore capris and a light jacket at night. It was about 80 during the day and probably dipped into the low 60's during the night.

You are not going to freeze to death without a jacket though and I continued wearing my flip flops during most of the evening. Although my DS did get wet on the Grizzly River Run one night and forgot his jacket, so I had to buy him a sweatshirt because he was cold (think he did it on purpose)! But I would definately pack a light jacket, sweater or sweatshirt. You won't need anything heavy, but it can get somewhat chilly feeling when the sun goes down, esp. if the wind is blowing.

We just got back and the weather was in the 80's I would guess. It was hot, but even my husband commented how he did not sweat the whole time we were there and it usually does not take much to make him sweat. I was glad to have a light sweatshirt after about 6:00 every night. I thought it was easier to pack for our Disneyworld trip last june than this California trip. At the world you need tank tops, shorts and a poncho. In CA you need a little of everything. I only used the capris and pants in San Diego though, just shorts in Aneheim with a sweatshirt at night.

DH is in Central Florida right now while I'm here in LA. He wants to come home because the humidity is so bad in Florida. He feels like he can't breathe out there. Its smoggy right now but he says he'd rather have that than the humidity.

Nights are very nice in California and no, you won't need a jacket at night in July.

I'm from Montana (doesn't get a whole lot drier than that!), and both times I've visited DL (once in August), the climate felt almost exactly the same. 80's during the day, low 70's/upper 60's in the evening. Gorgeous!!

There is no comparison. SoCal inland is very dry during the summer. I would be the RH is no greater than 12% unless it is very cloudy, rains, etc. The local stations usually tell you what the RH is and I think you can get the info about both areas on the net and compare them..just a thought.

We have been to WDW in July. Uggggggg! The temp and humidity were stifling. DL will be a welcome change as it is warm, or actually hot, but it doesn't feel like it because of the low humidity.
Take a jacket, snag a locker and have it available for the evening. Pay attention to the forecast while you are there and take a jacket only if the evening cools a lot. Have a great time.

What humidity? So Cal is dry, dry, dry, especially compared to FL. No matter what time a year we bring sweatshirts to DL after dinner. Even if its still warm and balmy outside the air conditioning in some of the buildings could freeze you! In the winter I would recommend bringing a jacket, light weight gloves and a hat. Even though its CA, it gets chilly standing in line or waiting for a parade or fantasmic. And the rainy drizzle we had last Dec was cold.

No humidity that you can feel at DLR. No comparison to WDW. In the summer we head out at 6:30-7:30AM each morning in shorts and tee-shirts (we never bring a sweater) and we wear the same thing until midnight. And never have felt cold. It is one of the special things about DLR and summer visits.

what about nov27-dec1 would we need jackets

When we go at that time of year, we usually wear jeans and t-shirts and bring along a sweatshirt for mornings and evenings. Some evenings, I even wear a jacket. If you're from a cold climate, you might not need it.

humm ok ill rember to have it just in case..im from blistering heat and love wearing shorts but ill bring some pants just in case

Well I happen to think So. California is more humid then the dry heat we have here in Nevada. Although if it's not too hot we look forward to that humidity! Feels like there is some water in the air, and my hands heal from having some moisture in the air! LOL I love it. We were there last July, and it was way too hot. We get 100 here where I live all the time, and it never feels THAT hot. We never get soaking wet in a few minutes! LOL So yes, I do believe So. Cal has some humidity.

No way is it like Florida though. It's part of why we haven't gone there, not sure I'd like that kind of heat with humidity at all. I'm quite surprised that people who live with dry heat climates think So. Cal is dry like where they live. We can tell a big difference, even if it isn't quite like back south!

I am from the Boise area and it is dry here -- when we went to DL I didn't notice much humidity at all. We went in February, so maybe that makes a difference. It is nothing like WDW in FL!! I remember being a teenager and putting deoderant in my purse so I could go in the bathroom periodically and re-apply because you feel like you are drenched! Ick! Not to mention what the humidity did to my hair and makeup -- not good! I didn't realize the impact of the humidity until we moved out West and I honestly don't know if I could handle the FL heat anymore :-)
For DL, I think in the fall, a light jacket is a great idea. I've never been in the summer months -- but it might not hurt to bring one just in case. :goodvibes

California can be Humid in the summer but NEVER anything even close to Florida. Yes it does it get hot but most of the season will be dry, especially in July and August. I live a little over an hour any from DL in the Desert and do notice the humidity, but it is cooler temp wise.

For the Fall, Winter and Spring months it is typically beautiful, but you do get some chilly days usually high 60's low 70's. The winds also can pick up and make it a little chilly. Usually a light jacket or sweat shirt is all you need.

Rain is VERY rare unless you come in early spring typically March and April.
