I am trying to find out who supplies the cruise line with their chicken, lamb, and beef. Also do they serve only range free chicken eggs? I am a humaneitarian and will only eat animal products from humanely raised and slaughtered animals.

This is an offshore operation, so no, I don't think it's likely you'll even get that detailed info, let alone them actually using only humanely harvested meat/eggs. Their own employees aren't even "free range"- do you know how small worker quarters are on cruise ships?

Humane slaughter. That just doesn't make sense. You cannot kill someone that doesn't want to be killed and call it humane.

OP, it doesn't exist. It sounds like you really care about the treatment of animals and I think that is amazing. Eat vegan on the cruise and you won't have to worry!

Begs the question... how do you harvest vegetables without causing pain and stress? Can't you hear the beets scream? Are those "free range" cucumbers? These are things we should all worry about.

It is not only about how the animals are killed also about how they are raised (free range vs cages etc). But there are def different circumstance how the animals are killed, look at the pictures from the slaughter houses they have just closed in Belgium, the animals were being abused before being killed, totally unnecessary. Some religious ways of slaughtering also forbid the animals to get anethesia. So there is for sure a difference in the way animals are slaughtered and I think everyone wishes it to be as painless and quick as possible. But I guess it will be difficult to find out where the meat is coming from on a cruise, thereby I also think that not many people ask about it so companies get away with serving the cheaper meat and after all they want to make money.

I saw in a blog that you could indicate if you wanted to eat vegetarian or vegan but haven't seen it when I did the online check-in.

OP, if this is a concern for you, you should probably eat vegetarian while on the cruise. I doubt you will get the answer you are looking for.

Thats for parks that stay put. Cruise ships are a whole different canf of worms.

I know this is a joke but brings up the topic of the workers who have to pick the vegetables in oftentimes inhumane environments and working conditions.

Write Disney Customer service and post their response here as this might interest some people. I highly doubt in the mass quantities they serve food that they can even find suppliers who can sell "humane" meat. What is your definition of "Humane" this also varies country to country. Some even have certifications such as "organic"... And I also assume each country has their own standards and certifications.. "Humane" or guidelines might be different for each country. I know the EU has very different cattle raising laws like in the states or how animals for example are transported to slaughter..

Also eggs.. Sure the eggs maybe cracked open in the Omelete Bar might be presented as wholesome or "free range".. I wonder if one digs deeper and asks how do mass producers of food ( cruise ships) use eggs when they bake or even bread meat? I know they don't crack eggs one by one open when they use eggs to cook. they come in huge milk cartons ready for use.
