Human Decency is officially down the toilet......

Maybe there should be a "Bratty Kids of McDonald's" thread. You know, like the strange people at Walmart. There could be pictures of kids touching other people's purses and tapping on their seats, running around screaming, and ruining people's meals with their constant busy-body questions all while their parents smile proudly.

Why do I have this unnerving suspicion that the adult was being loud and the child (while inappropriately) was probably correct?

That being said......If you want to have a meal with any sense of proper atmosphere and decorum:(or palatable and somewhat nutricious food for that matter) I would suggest that Mickey D's not be your selection.

Well it's certainly a dramatic title!!!

I would've either apologized (if I had been excessively loud or otherwise disruptive to other diners) or told her "No".

This thread has been open for over 2 hours and no glitterkitty? I'm very disappointed.:guilty:

Humm, interesting. This is like that other thread about McD's only on bizaro world (or Earth 2 for you Ron & Fez fans). On that thread it was ok for the adult to tell the child to be quiet, I guess it is only fitting that the same is true of the reverse. To approve of this in one direction and not the other seems a bit inconsistent to me. :confused3

I rally don't care either way, it is what it is and the world will continue to revolve. The title of the thread made me think it was about a mass shooting or something. I don't know if this really is a sign for the end of human decency.

I think this will be an enjoyable thread, I'll subscribe.

You're kidding, right?

And for the record, I didn't think the older person should have told the child to be quiet.

I would have laughed right in that kids face. I wouldn't have been able to help it.:rotfl:

New rule.

Hey Alex....could we get a new rule smiley. :rotfl:

Here ya go Phorse-- You have to convince Alex to add it though!

Well, how loud was your mom being? Was she disruptive, you know some people go to McD's to have a quiet lunch and not be bothered by the conversations of others.

j/k :)

You've got to be kidding. Anyone who thinks they can have a quiet lunch at a McDonalds on a Saturday must have never eaten there before. The noise level at most McDonalds on a Saturday morning is just somewhere below a sonic boom!

The world is going to hell in a handbasket, between this and balls on playgrounds, I really just think I will never leave the house again.

Pssst. There's a j/k down at the bottom of her post. ;)

I would have said to the child (loud enough for the parents to hear) that her lack of manners make people think badly of her parents.

Yes, I was kidding, it was a joke in referrence to another McD's thread :)

my mother and father took my kids out to mcdonalds this morning. my mother was conversing with my kids, when the little girl (about 6-7 yrs old) in the booth behind them leans over the seat and says to my mother, "be quiet." my mother looks at the girl's father who just sits there and looks back at her. now my mother showed incredible restraint and just turned back around. I would have definitely said something to the father about teaching his child manners.

what kind of parent allows their child to tell an adult (and complete stranger) to be quiet?!?

I am very fearful for what will become of the next generation!

Was your mother be screeching or disruptive? If she was, and it was one of my kids who told her to be quiet, I probably wouldn't have corrected them either.

Ooo, can we lay bets on when this will turn into a clique thread too? 2 buckets of pixie dust down on by page 5 :lmao::rotfl:
