During our last trip to IOA (Dec 2016) we ended up with the worst headache after riding the Hulk. I think the majority of the problem was the corkscrew right after the launch. It seems to throw our heads right into the side head restraint. Is there any tricks to avoid this? We are going back later this year and are excited to ride Hulk again!

This is my problem as well. I like the coaster, but it is brutal on the head. I wonder if there have been any reports of concussions.

Anyway, the only thing I have found was to hold my neck very stiff. It didn't prevent the bangs, but reduced the intensity.

Was this perhaps before the refurb? I have never noticed an issue with Hulk but I never rode it before it got smoothed out. I hear it was brutal before..

No, I never rode before the refurb. I last rode it this past April.

I also get headaches after riding. The only thing I try to do, as PP mentions, is keep a stiff neck and hold my head back against the seat. It helps slightly.

I’ve always found the front of the coaster is smoother than the back. Although I cant say for sure this is true on the hulk, it is true on rip ride rockit. Loops make me ill so I can’t quite handle the hulk. :crazy2:

My tip is also ride in the front. You will still get some banging around but not near as much.

Just ask for the front and they will put you there. You may have to step aside and wait for the next train, but definitely a less bangy ride.

I never got headaches before or after the rehab until this year (February) both on Hulk and RRR. Perhaps the wheels and other parts are getting old.

This seems to work for us too.

We find it smoother now after the refurb.

Before the refurb we actually stopped riding it for one trip as it was unbelievably rough!! And we can ride the Hulk 3 or 4 times in a row.

Since the refurb it is better. But we always have the front. For me the worst part is near the end part.......it feels tighter and twistier.........I feel my head gets bashed more then than the beginning........

And definitely the front for RRR........if it’s not the front we won’t ride. But thankfully we always ask and get the front row. Even if we have to wait.

It is nice to hear that we are not the only ones with this problem! We used to ride it first thing in the morning but that put a damper on the whole day. I think for this upcoming trip we are going to wait until the end of the day to ride it.

It`s an awful feeling when it ends your day like that. All for a ride.

The one time I sat on the back row of RRR, I ended up going back to RP as I felt so bad...….my head had been rattled about like a rag doll. Took a good few hours before I felt normal again.

Front row after that for us.
