Jan 09 – Attractions at Islands of Adventure see a few changes …

The Incredible Hulk coaster has recently received an addition to the facility for on-ride photographs. Guests now also have the opportunity to buy an on-ride DVD of their experience. It costs a little more than a photograph as they cost $30 each. It’s thought the facility has been added to test out the technology that will be used on the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster coming to Universal Studios. The parks press release on the new attraction reads “When the ride is over, guests will be able to customize footage from their experience and compile it into a take-home music video”.

Elsewhere there have been a few reports that the Duelling Dragons attraction no longer gives guests the opportunity to select the track they wish to ride, “Ice” or “Fire”. To make sure guests with Express Passes get to ride quickly they are exclusively riding on the “Ice” side while everyone else now has to use “Fire”.

We will almost certainly be getting the Hulk video if it is available when we go, but I'm not too impressed by the limitations put on the Duelling Dragons ride. One of the attractions of this was that my daughter and I used to enjoy doing one, then the other, straight after one another and pick our favourite track.

that is going to be one quiet ice during the off season. In October i have been there loads of days where there is no more than 50 in total for both q's. Wonder how many of those were express? 5-10 So what do they do, put 10 on the ice and fill Fire leaving about 30 empty seats. Suspect the q organisation will be fluid so they can change either way quickly if needed and pretty much peak season only.

They have 3 options
It works like that with Big Thunder, busy times one line is for FP only. Quieter times they still have FP line but fill FP train with regular riders or very quiet times don't even give out FP's, although at Uni they will have to allow express all year so this won't be an option.

I can't believe people pay $30(no doubt +tax), £20 for 2:15 mins of ride but photos never interest me either.:goodvibes

It's a good option to have - I got a dvd video like this last summer on Raptor at Cedar Point and it's great - plus it featured a park overview - all good!

I'm sure the DVD option will be popular - it'll be a good money-maker for IoA. ;)

Not happy about the Duelling Dragons bit of the report though. :sad2: I read about them only using one train for a while over on the USF board here on the DIS, but maybe on-site guests were complaining too much. :confused3

We're not impressed with the Express Passes at Universal. Like Wayne says, we can't believe anyone pays the extra for this and it just shows how money grabbing Universal are - don't start me on this!
