Hi:wave2:

After 10 years our daughter will finally be tall enough for the ride :scared1:

We've never done it before as always chickened out!! The problem I have with some coasters are the head rattling. RNRC at DHS always rattles my head about like a pea in a tin can, and end up with a bad headache all day :guilty:

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

TIA

Lesley, The Hulk varies for me personally.

The nearer the front the less rattly I feel it. I do love the back row though :thumbsup2

Sometimes I can do it 6 or 7 times in a row other times once.

You have to try it though......bet your daughter will love it.

Duelling Dragons I find a much smoother ride generally :wave2:

Thanks Carole,

I know she'll love it! Its me Im concerned for!! Stayed at Port Aventura couple times and nearly made it on to Dragon Khan, but bailed out.

I know Im going to have to do it, how do you feel once you've came off it?

I was a little disoriented the first few times I rode it but got over that feeling pretty quickly. There are so many twists and turns on the back side of the track that you don't see that are really fun.

Once or twice I felt a little dizzy.....but not for long. Just a few minutes.

By comparison I came off Rip Ride Rockit once and had to go back to the hotel  I love that ride though :cool1:

We had been on the front of RRR and it was fantastic, went back on and ended up near the back.......I was really bad!!

Was very dizzy and woozy.....head was really rattled. But it was extremely hot and that didn`t help so went back to RP for an hour or so and felt fine. I still go on it though :scratchin

Never been like that with the Hulk though......well, maybe a little after the 7th time :lmao:

Oh God no! Im saying ok now but as soon as i go through the bit at Confiscos Ill start panicking!! :scared:

My husband is worse than me, although he said he'll do duelling dragons with her. Every year she's been going up to the height bit and we say awwwhhh....you're still to small...maybe next year (phew). from the first time she stood under it when she was 23 months and pointed up at it, shes wanted to go on it!

Oh well...only live once x

My brain rattled around in my skull:rotfl2: BUT I rode Dragon Challenge first and that was probably what did it.I felt sick coming off Dragon Challenge and just a little "off" getting off Hulk

I actually think that Hulk is one of the smoothest coasters I've ridden. (Maybe Cheetah Hunt has it beat... but that's about it!)

Now Rip Ride Rockit, on the other hand, gives me a headache and rattles my brain. OUCH.

Thanks guys!

Im really not planning on doing RRR, the idea of no over shoulder harness freaks me out! It was closed for a long period of time last time we were there!

Request to be in the front half of the train vs the back half. Over years the Hulk has gotten much rougher than it used to be.

How funny. I found the hulk to be very rough and Rip Ride Rocket to be very smooth. Maybe it has something to do with height? :scratchin

I'm going back in September and not sure I could put myself through the hulk again. If I do I may have to sit further up front as suggested.

Hulk not rough. Hulk am OK.

I'm a coaster chicken trying to overcome, by working my way up from coaster to coaster. The thing I most dislike about coasters is the first drop. This is why I love the Hulk: the launch gets you up to speed with POSITIVE G's (you're pushed into your seat, instead of up and out). At the top of the launch, you flip over and still get more positive G's on the way down. No butterflies or sinking feeling in my stomach, much more enjoyable.

I find that doing a 'crunch' on my stomach during a regular drop (like Dragon Challenge) helps quiet the butterflies.

Good luck.

I love the hulk and its my all time favorite coaster and not a vacation unless I ride it once but it is rough on me cause I have a bad neck and it does jerk you around but worth it to me lol

i do all the coaster rides but last year i was in the mid to back portion of the Hulk and it felt like i was on RnR coaster.

a tad too much of jarring the head for me ...

i prefer to do the Hulk early morning when the mist is over the water as you go on that ride.
kewl effect.

for me, fire is smoother than ice on the dueling dragons.

the only ride i do mutiple times in a row is Dr Doom.

I did not find Hulk to be particularly jarring to my head or neck. However, I did find it to be ABSOLUTELY EXHILARATING :thumbsup2 I didn't have any clue as to how the ride was going to go so it made it that much better for me. We rode it right after lunch too, but it did not make our stomachs queasy or anything like that. YMMV.

Yep, over the years it has. I find if you stick to the front half you do fine. But then you always want that rear row ride with the whip and pull.

Just went to both parks yesterday. On our previous trip we rode in the 5th row and I feel like I was jerked around quite a bit. Came off with a headache :(

However, when we went yesterday, we rode in the front (lines in the park all day were nonexistent...I think we waited for 2 cars to load before it was our turn :cool1: ) and it was INCREDIBLE. (my first time in front, gimme a break, lol)
But I don't know that I could see myself doing Hulk multiple times in a row..
Now, HRRR on the other hand is a totally different story. I could ride that thing day in, day out...If you haven't ridden to Wheel in the Sky, you're missing out :)

I rode it for the first time yesterday, our second ride of the day, got the back row.....it was rough.... wish i would have been further front.... it is a great ride, it just rattled my brains for the day....

Hi:wave2: OP here with a UPDATE

Done the Hulk twice and enjoyed it!! Dont know if id say I loved it.

Arrived with absolutely NO LINE, I actually had decided I wasnt doing it, but after I seen it I thought, oh well, lets just get it over with! They were having technical problems with it and had to stand at the loading area for 10 mins, with my knees knocking and heart racing!

I requested the 2nd row as advised. The start is amazing!! Thee best bit of the ride! I did feel after it went under the bridge and round the back that was a bit much and just wanted off by that point.

Thanks again for all the advice...thats another one ticked off my list!
