Hey guys, So I'm not a big roller coaster fan. I hate big drops and the feeling it gives you. Some rides I can deal with, I like Rockin Roller coaster for example. My question, is this ride more like RNR or does it have a drop that gives you that feeling in your stomach as well? Hard to tell by the design of it.

Thanks everyone.

Similar to RnR in that it has a similar take off- no slow rachet up a steep hill, but a blast off. But there are loops and spirals and thrills. As you walk into IoA, you walk right under it. You can't miss it. Decide then....mwaahaahaahaa ha!

It has a fast launch , lots of loops, spirals and turns..I would wait till you get there, but you can google pics of it .The launch tube is purple and green.

It does not have a drop that gives you that feeling in your stomach.

As others have pointed out the big 'rush' of the ride is the launch - after that it is turns, twists and loops.

So if you are not a big fan of that weightless feeling this ride is one that you can go on.

Yes, it does give you that stomach feeling, and in my opinion the strongest one in the parks. You are accelerated into a barrel roll and then right into a very large drop. I love it but it is a very intense feeling of that lift in the stomach!

I guess you have a good point.

To me that stomach drop is not as intense as Doom Drop, or when you are on a huge roller coaster and you are heading straight down. To me the hulk stomach feeling is more from the acceleration.

I guess the moral of the story is - you have to decide for yourself.

If you are able to do Rocking Roller Coaster (at hollywood studios @ disney) then you may like the hulk - it has a similar take off (The hulk is way better, bigger, and covers a lot more area)

:thumbsup2

I AM a roller coaster fan. I must say that HULK is the one I have said I will not ride again. I think it is very rough. Rock n roller is rather smooth, as are dragon challenge and RRR. Hulk is a no go for me.

I would say look on youtube for a pov video of it. I do get a bit of that stomach feeling, but I love it. The video might help you see the drops a bit, it will obviously be a lot different on the ride of course lol. But watching pov's of rides has helped me a little before.

Hi guys, thanks for all the help. I've actually seen the ride up close. We were just there this past May and I didn't think it was something I wanted to do. Now that it's just my gf and I, I feel bad her going on it alone. I didn't see any real traditional drop but that's not to say I still won't feel it. Guess my best course of action is to just suck it up and try it.

To me this was like a longer outdoor version of rock and roller coaster except the takeoff was uphill and it was obviously themed very differently. Very fun but no high hill feelings.

Hulk is definitely more intense than RNR....The coaster itself rises higher than the building RNR is in. There is no direct straight down drop though. RNR is basically a small steel coaster in the dark. I think Hulk would definitely be more of a challenge... but give it a try, it's fun :hyper:

Agreed. I love roller coasters but Hulk gives me a headache. It's definitely worth a ride to try out if you like coasters. It does not give you that stomach-drop feeling in my opinion.

I agree - I think hulk is much more intense then RNRC - maybe because RNRC is in the dark and so the height isn't obvious, but with hulk being outside it is much more obvious how high you are.

I actually love the Hulk coaster. This is a much more intense ride than any of the Disney coasters, but I still think it is a smooth ride. I agree with everyone's advice on getting to the park and watching it a few times before making your decision on whether to ride or not.
