Hulk - how extreme?

Can anyone explain how extreme this is as a ride? I am going to up my game this year and HOPEFULLY pick up the courage to ride and enjoy.

It seems such a shame not to ride it after how amazing the refurb looks, and it hopefully will be up and running full time by the time I go in late Sept/Oct.

In terms of coasters, I've been on ones like Rock N Roller Coaster in HWS, and The Mummy in Universal.

This year I'm also trying Space Mountain and Expedition Everest; can't believe I've never been on Space Mountain...! Think it stems from my uncle telling me it was dark and fast when I was a child. Now it's probably fairly tame. In fact they are more about the Disney theming I guess instead of extreme rides..but yep, definitely off on both.

I'm absolutely fine on (and love riding) Forbidden Journey/Gringotts/Big Thunder Mountain/Jurassic Park/Splash Mountain and the two coasters above were fun....I just hadn't been on a coaster for years so the initial ride was like 'woah, pretty quick'....

I don't mind upside down sections one bit. I'm not the worlds biggest fan of pure drops for the hell of it, much prefer high speed. But, happy on the above rides so I can't be that bad!

Hulk looks smooth and fun. It's 90sec or something, but I just want to know the worst of it!

Cheers

I think it is considerably more intense than Rock 'n Roller Coaster but not scarier.

I was also wondering this yesterday. I can do flips and high-speed all day, but can't stand high drops. Luckily the launch of the first lift hill looks like it will take the edge off of having to anticipate the drop (which is curved and angled thankfully).

I don't get that "dropping" sensation with Hulk........I tend to scream at he start of the drop........worst thing you can do is hold your breath when dropping.....then apparently you feel as though you're dropping.......iyswim!!

It's such a fun ride........I got to find it too bumpy towards the end of the ride if I wasn't in the front couple of rows....but, I think that's been fixed now.

It is so much fun........I was beyond terrified first time I went on it years ago........soon as we came off we went straight back around again, and again!

It's worth giving it a bash.......

Sounds good to me! That initial launch must be pretty exhilarating, and I liked the launch on RNRoller Coaster.

I don't mind speed/launch thrills...that is quite fun, and the drops don't look like the focus of the ride. I've been on some pretty high UK log flumes in the past so I should be ok.

My only problem is I wear glasses and they nearly came off on RNRoller Coaster so I couldn't see what ace things were ahead as well...might get a band for them to stay on.

My husband and son both wear glasses and never take them off for rides, they have never had a problem with losing glasses on any rides over there.

Some folks use Croakies for their glasses and really like them.

Yes, the launch is good.......I prefer Hulk launch to RNR coaster anyday!

I'm sure you'll enjoy it.......

The upside down parts are so quick, it will be over before you realize it

Is the launch on Hulk faster or slower than RnRC? Is the distance you travel on the "straightaway" longer or shorter? I almost lost my lunch on RnRC during the launch! I was fine once we got into the loops. I am the total opposite of the other posters. I can do drops just fine- it's the fast speeds and turning all around that gets me!

Yes.... the launch is faster and longer than RnRC? If so, Hulk is out!
Here is a pic of me from my first and LAST time on RnRC. I think my face says it all!

Lol.......hilarious!!!

The Hulk is a fast launch.........:thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure back in the day I read on the website that the launch was 40 (perhaps 45) mph on Hulk. RnRC is 60 mph.

Either way, OP, you should be good on the Hulk as it has no dramatic drops, just a lot of speed and loops, which you said you can do.

I just did some research on the Dis...
RnRC- "This indoor roller coaster features a high-speed launch of 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds"
Hulk- " The ride starts by shooting your vehicle up a lift hill at 40 mph"

Yep, technically not as fast........but.........feels fast as heck at times!

But.......fun........you definitely need to try it..........:thumbsup2

its a combination of cheetah hunt and kumba at busch gardens if you ask me.
id rate it a 7.5 when it comes to thrilling coasters.
where space mountain and thunder mountain would be a 2.

I am the biggest chicken that ever chickened and I love that damn ride. My favorite coaster I have ever been on. Won't touch the Rip Ride Rocket coaster though with it's 90 degree first drop, no way no how.
