Hey, anyone hear about the Hulk break incident that just happened? Supposedly, the ride didn't slow down where it was suppose to so the emergency brakes kicked on and everyone on the ride had to be helped off. There were no injuries but needless to say that would be a little scary!

Glad to hear everyone is okay. I saw it just a minute ago on the news. They didn't say everyone was off yet.
I would have been freaking out!!

That ride's scary enough to go on without the brakes not working. Geez, glad I didn't hear about this before I went on it.

I guess, if you survive, it would be kind of cool.

Hopefully the brakes aren't broken and it will be up and running when I take my break there next week!

Agree, seems it overshot the brake run by a couple feet.

It would have been caught by the next brake block. Plus another, plus another. There were two more brake blocks to stop the train. I'm surprised they had to take the people off the ride. They could of just reset the ride and had it go to the next block.

Now everyone is gonna blow this out of preportion.

Where's Earl?

Come back and set the record straight.

that's weird. I wonder what happened that they couldn't do a reset. I've ridden in pretty hard rains and the cars barely slow at the first set of trims. I haven't seen a total shutdown like that.

Oh my, it was on the local news, but at least they got the story correct and said no one was injured.

Still, they hyped it up as a teaser story.

Otherwise I'd be ready to blast them. But I guess they got the message last time.

Only at Universal would an incident this minor actually make it onto the news. They wouldn't have even mentioned it had it happened at Disney.

It's not that simple of just restarting it. The car started to leave the break block section before the e-stop was set off, the front row of the car was hanging over the edge. With a ride like this once the ride is e-stopped you have to evac everyone off, the reason why it was on the news is because the ride OVERshot the block break section. Rides often undershoot the block breaks and not get there fast enough, which happens all the time which is why you never hear about it on the news. On ROTM and Hulk there is something called aborted launch, which happens if the car infront of yours doesn't make it to a certin secton of the ride(often block breaks) causing an e-stop in the launch tunnel. For a ride to over shoot the breaks is a big deal because that is a break failure, you can always stop the car behind you, but you can't rush the car infront of you. If the ride didn't e-stop I am 99% sure alot of people would be injured. THAT is why it was on the news.

From what I've read, it wasn't a brake failure. It was just the front row that wasn't where it was supposed to be to unload after the e-stop. The e-stop itself was due to a computer glitch and wasn't related to the brakes.

The car didn't stop where it was suppose too= break failure. It was cause by a computer glitch but it's still a break failure.
