Disney online is havine a huge pin sale. One item in particular was a GREAT deal:cheer2:

Disney Animated Short ''Music Land'' Boxed Pin Set #9 is $9.99 for 6 pins! That's less than $2 a pin. I ordered 3 sets (18 pins) and with shipping it came to $35.87 for everything including shipping and handling. That's less than $2.00 a pin! We use them to trade! Hurry though, this set was limited to 3,000!

WooHoo my day is made:thewave: :thewave:

I do have one question. My 8 yr old twins love to trade with the CM's for fun. Is it ok to trade these pins one by one, even though they come as a set? I just can't afford the regular $8 - 10 per pin price.

They (nor I) have an idea on pin values. They just like to trade for their favorite characters.

Thanks for input.

Oh definately! I always break up a set and trade one by one. They expect that I believe, no one ever trades more than one pin at a time (whole sets). If it's two pins hooked together or with a dangle then that should be traded whole, but otherwise, it's fine to trade one by one!

Enjoy!

Thank you so much Emme - Great post! I also bought 3 sets. FYI, I was able to use the BACKTOSCHOOL04 code for 10% off.

Have a wonderful night.

I hit this sale this morning also :) I've been looking for starter pins for my dds to trade next trip. I also bought 2 of the lanyard sets -- I've been eyeing these for awhile. I was also able to use 10% off code.

Just tried to order. That set was gone:( but there were a couple of other sets with 5 pins in them. I bought 45 pins. I have 4 kids so I am still thinking that is not enough. But I have to stop somewhere. That is so hard for me...I love to watch them have so much fun trading.

I have so many disney pins to sell-can you guys offer advice on what is the best way to go about selling them.

Am I best trying on ebay and selling them as a group lot or as singles. I have over 200 pins that I had collected starting on our honeymoon in 1993 but now we are trying to finance our adoption and I need to sell them.

Any suggestions on where I can try selling them-I am not looking to make a fortune -even willing to sell them for less than what I paid for them.
Thanks for any advice
Marcy

Ijust bought a bunch of pins to get my 2DDs started. Are the lanyard set they have a good deal? Or is a lanyard from the park better? I am just starting to learn about trading.

Thanks!

You should ask on the collector's board. They could probably give you some good advice. There are quite a few pin collectors there. :)

Fluffernutter --

I have a few suggestions to help determine value.

Go to www.pinpics.com You will not get dollar values, but each pin shows a number for members who are looking and a number for people who have them to trade. A very high want to available ratio will show a high value.

Do an eBay search for the pin under Completed Listings and see what the selling prices (of those that had one or more bids) were. As an example, on June 11 one person sold nine Figment pins from 1982 for a total price of almost $2,800.00, with the prices ranging from $152.23 to $560.00.

Pins that appear to be a high value sell much better (for the seller) individually than in groups. A few years ago I paid a little over $400 for a complete framed Cocal Cola 15th Anniversary Set (over 60 pins) which would have cost around $2,000 if I had bought them individually.

The lower value pins will probably sell better as a group.

Check out the 3 little pig set too! It is $7.99 for 4 pins (with code it is $1.80 a pin). Also ther is a Tron set of 8 pins for $16.99 (with code it is $1.91 a pin). And yes the pins in sets can be traded individually.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale!

I just wish I had checked the boards yesterday! Most of the items I wanted were sold out already.

Thanks again,
Dan.

Even worse, I was looking at the pins, put some in my shopping cart along with the pin backpack. Since it was nearing midnight, I was too lazy to go get my credit card to finalize the order. When I got on the computer this morning at 8:00 am, my shopping cart had been emptied of the backpack and some pins that were now out of stock.

So the 14.99 pin backpack will now cost me 32.00 from WDW by mailorder. I really wanted it for DS's birthday next month.

But I guess I still should order the pins, it's a great price. Thanks too for the code.

j's m : You might want to check ebay for the pin backpack. It looks like someone is selling the same one as disneystore.com and there are also some cool ones shaped like Mickey's head. I searched on "pin backpack". Good Luck.

Thanks Pandamom. I already checked it out, now I'm trying to decide which one DS9 would like. I want it to be a surprise since I told him last year, no way. At least they are cheaper than ordering from WDW. But the Disney.com was the best price. I also promised DH no more ebay. Oh well, it's for DS!

Thanks for the tips on selling my pins.
I am going to check out pinpics and probably sell some of them as groups on ebay
thanks again for all the help

Thanks for the post, Emme. We were just able to order several pin sets and use the discount code. My kids love to trade.
